After two weekends of offroad, lanes, some mud, water and constant below-freezing temperatures the compressor is making a racket...
So assuming its frozen, I've just managed to lever off the cover and yep - the foam surround is frozen to the compressor (no longer attached to the cover either )
I need to see to it tonight - so would you attempt to add a gentle, even heat to the foam (via a variable heat gun) to just give it that little bit of help...?
Thoughts please The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

I would just leave it to thaw out on its own. Its doing no harm.
next option...? the cover won't fit back on now as the block of ice that is frozen foam has moved a little The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

well the cover is back on...used a hammer to bang it back on far enough to at least get one bolt in to hold it up
Will wait for it to thaw...but seeing as I'm out in freezing temperatures again this weekend in a forest in Belgium it might be a while...The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
