Very sorry to hear this.
I'd light fires under people until you get another 4x4. I did in the summer last year when someone went into me.
Barfield Motors on Gillet Street (off Hessle Road) are v v good (they used to have the LR contract) - I used them when some idiot shot at mine with an air rifle.
My prang was sorted by Impact Refinshers near Bankside - also excellent.

keep some "pre-accident" photos handy and any ones taken at the bodyshop to illastrate the condition, also get a few adverts from the tinternet of like for like vehicles/prices also remove the service book from yer car......worst case and it is CATd, then you need a wee bit of leverage to negotiate the settlement with yer insurer

I have removed everything baring the floor mats and seat covers. Body shop have just rung, seem to be starting to get the wheel off to assess the damage. They seem hopeful so far that the chassis wont be affected.
The other driver has been charged with drink driving and careless driving. Silly young girl supposedly training to be a teacher, not one ounce of sympathy for her. Bloody annoyed still waiting for a replacement car, was told one would be here by 9am this morning.......................

Just heard from the body shop, so far things looking quite good. All the rear offside suspension needs replacing along with the wheel and tyre. Apparently the top arm almost bent double, but chassis fine. They are ordering the parts imagine that will be slow with Christmas, no body work damage other than the plastic wheel arch brow.
They have said once the rear suspension is rebuilt they will road test and carry out a four wheel alignment.

Sod that - get ranting and tanting on the phone to the hire provider and explain how you MUST HAVE a disco because of blah blah blah. Happened to my wife a few years ago - she got a fiesta in replacement for a vectra and after much ranting and tanting she ended up with a delivery mileage SRi Zafira - he who shouts loudest and all...

Not so simple apparently it has snowed, so 4x4 hire cars are just a tad rare!

Hire car should be being provided by the drunk girls ins company as it so cut and dried as her fault. You should be able to go hire a Disco or similar at what ever cost per day/week and have the bill paid by HER insurance policy - this has got nowt to do with what replacement car cover there is in your own policy.
Sorry to rant it just really pees me off the way insurance companies try to wriggle out of things
