I'm ready to talk about it..
Right yesterday morning me and my 9 year old son went over to my work to finish off a wooden gate I am making. In work I have an electric wheel chair which I'm going to make into a go-kart for him, that reminds me something else I must get round to anyway the boy plays in it when we go over work.So was just setting up and sanding some bits and the boys off in the chair bombing around when suddenly I hear this load crack deep down I just know what it is so look up to see my boy had reversed into my pride and joy yes the Disco one handlebar in the rear light and the other in the rear quarter next to the fuel flap well I don't think I have ever felt so many emotions in one hit, needless to say I was not a happy bunny, but I did settle down later after many hours of disbelief and taking painkillers and a cold flannel on my head I turn round to my son and said don't worried son its only a bit of metal

I would sooner the damage be to the car than my son, as you say its only a hunk of metal and can be repaired.

My daughter managed to scrap a luggage trolly down the side of a new X5 when returning from a skiing holiday whilst the owners were sitting waiting in it. £600 end to the holiday. I didn't speak to her all the way home.

I reversed an 8 ton truck into my dads range rover about 7 years ago leaving a lovely big imprint of a taillift in its front. I knew he was totally devastated cause it was his pride and joy. He just stood speechless for about 2 minutes looking at it. Now our trucks have reversing cameras

give him a hug
work together with him and teach him how to fix it... never too young to learn
or ring"where there's blame there is a claim lawyers" and sue him for all he is worth. It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

....not sure I could sit down for a week after
20(ish) years ago my father had just finished building an AC Cobra replica (420bhp Jag V12 ). It had taken him every night and weekend for nearly two years and was his pride and joy.
Whilst he was out working one evening I opened the garage door, took the handbrake off and pushed it backwards out of the garage a couple of metres so that I could use the pillar drill to make a bit for my Mini.
After an hour or so it started to rain so I ran over and pulled the garage door down....but completely forgot that the Cobra was parked directly underneath
Result....one nice garage-door sized crack across the width of the freshly painted fibreglass boot lid.
I think it took my two weeks until I could sit down again ISTR (quite vividly) that my punishment was to regrind all of the valves on a spare engine....not much fun when there are 24 of the f s 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
I still reacll my eldest explaining how a Volvo 244 (yes with ramming bumpers) got wrapped around what must have been a very large tree....she came & tols us about it right away as this is what we have brought our two up to do.....tell us everything & we will sort it out.
I contract this with text message we go just five years ago...which I still keep on my phone.
She explained she was in hospital after a snwoboarding accident (she was & still is in New Zealand) I have broken L1.......dont worry everything is OK.
We phoned the hospital & they jest said "come" serious situation...she had in fact broken her back very badly
My wife went there & spent five weeks taking her through all that was required, her heart stopped twice, pneumonia, the possibilty of being paraplegic, the road to recovery, hydrotherapy, the mental issues.
Fortunatley she was seen bey a surgeon flown in from Switzerland.....AAc & the specialist hospital in Auckland got it exactly right.
She was on her feet at 12 weeks, walking unaided, driving her car..
three years ago I saw her get back onto her 'board & take on a difficult slope in France..she now alpin ski's at a high level
She now works for the NZ government & is currently based in the southern alps..the dream job the dream place.....
Your vehicle is just dented metal that can easily be fixed...at some stage you will sell this & get another or something else.........it could be so, so differentBREXIT - done properly.

It happens.
My brother brought his new car home the day he got it, parked it in the drive and my Dad reversed his lawn mower into the n/s/f corner of it.
My Mum once drove into the back of one of my cars in the drive as the sun blinded her, I felt really bad for her as she cried becuase she thought I would be really cross but just laughed as it was very funny.
These things happen. I'd like to think I wouldn't be cross if someone did that to my M5 or the D3 but I know eventually I would be ok. I guess
