Some low life has keyed my Disco!
Just come back to my car (Stornaway Grey 57 plate SE) to find some low life has keyed it right down the near side has anyone used chips away or anyone like that for paint repairs and was the work up to scratch?

There really are some little out there - I had 8 panels keyed on a car years ago
Not had personal experience of dents away etc
but your question did make me smile

Welcome to Site !
Yip, I've been there as well.
Depends how deep the scratch is. If you can feel it with your finger nail, then I think it's likely to need resprayed.
Unfortunately mine needed resprayed, but got a really good guy who did a spot on job. There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.

It's border line on whether it'll need a respray or not can just feel the scratch with my finger nail but it's not that deep, fingers crossed a machine polish will take it out.

Disco_Jim try Gordon Lamb LR in Chesterfield (01246 269000) they have their own smart repair people and they have done a good job on my previous Discovery when it was keyed and damaged by a kid throwing stones. They also repaired 2 kerbed wheels on my D2 and a scuff in the dash - good as new after.

I feel your pain I had every panel on my last keyed/gouged bar one and all had to be resprayed black.
When I collected it I noticed the orange peel effect on the lower tailgate so mentioned it as it was very bad compared to the rest. Short story it was the only one left with original paint.
So silver lining was a better paint job
Mind you if I ever catch them they are 2007 D3 HSE Artic Frost Silverish

I have been in the smart repair business for 16 years. I am sorry to hear about your car......low life isn't how I would describe them. If your fingernail clicks when you run your finger nail through it then there is no chance it will polish out. for an area that big you would need to have the whole side sprayed really. Chipsaway generally do a good job on smaller areas but would not take this on. There are good and bad smart repair people in every company, the best way to get a good one is to go to your local jag or merc dealer and ask who they use (they do not tollerate crap work) If your near Manchester give me a buzz and I will gladly point you in the right direction
