Positive terminal wont grip onto battery properly
Not sure if there has been a post about a 'proper' resolution for this....
Ive had to do a hard reset on my D3 but the positive terminal doesnt connect properly to the battery. Ive opened the connector, made sure its fully pushed down and tightened the nut as much as it will go, but it still doesnt quite bite on.
Its not exactly just going to jump off, but its loose enough for me to be able to move it on the battery terminal without too much effort. Its always been like this and I get electrical gremlins during the really cold months and I dont think this will help.
Any suggesions for a solution would be gratefully received 😊🖒

Overtightened battery clamps can stretch, and can deform the post on the battery. I would start by replacing the clamp, and if that doesn't do it you might be looking at a new battery.Richard

Another solution is to open it up enough to get a file in and file where it meets, closest to the cable and also at the clamp and, this allows it to be nipped up am little more.

I'd replace the terminal, if it's been tightened that much it'll probably break. They're just cheap pot metal. Happened on my Jeep. Possibly get a smaller one. I'm assuming the battery isn't original so the new battery might have a slightly smaller post.
I'm guessing someone probably makes a product too that's conductive and probably has some adhesive properties too, but I'd do that as a last resort.17 Discovery 5 HSE Si6, Fuji White on brown | 07 LR3 SE 4.4 Java Black on Alpaca
