Hiya ab54666
Cheers
The toothpaste is certainly going to be the quickest and easiest to try as Cerium Oxide will be slightly more difficult to obtain.
As always, I will let you know how i get on.

The Whitening ones are slightly better as a little more abrasive.
A class detailed swears by blanks toothpaste if you can get it!

Nice clean up there!
If you're into serious protection, you might want to top off your Extra Gloss Protection with a wax like Meguiars #16 or even Collinite 476s to see you through the winter grime.
Oh yes and just reading one of the earlier posts, once you've got EGP on you should SRP it again as the SRP will remove your sealant. Hope this helps! Visit my car detailing blog at http://maksimumdetail.wordpress.com

For those who want shiny without going to the extent of machine polishers and the like:
1. Clay Bar.
2. Paint Cleanser, something like Dodo Juice Lime Prime.
3. A Polish for any correction, something like the sonus hand bundle.
4. A Glaze, this is what a lot of people miss out. Meguiars Show Glaze #7 is very good.
5. A sealent if you wish (most don't)
6. A wax, lots around, Autoglyms HD is very good for the money and comes with applicators etc.
My own personal preference is to then seal after waxing but others differ in that view.
For wheels you can't go far wrong after they are spotless applying Poorboys Wheel Sealent, i've used that for years on my cars and the wheels still look as good as new as it means brake dust won't stick (also smells lovely!). My 1994 Porsche 968 wheels still look factory fresh and they've never been refinished, as did my 1987 911 wheels which were fuch so always a to keep clean as anodised.
