OEM Ladder: Movement

Fitted my s/h OEM ladder recently and noticed that, over the period of a day or so, there seems to be quite a bit of movement (mainly forwards but also lateral) where the upper most panel of the ladder fits around the top of the tailgate, to the point where occasionally the ladder catches and scratches the paintwork on the opposite panel.

When supplied new, does the supplied rubber fitting include a double-sided adhesive layer so it sticks tot he ladder and tailgate, or just single-sided for the ladder only?

Anyone else suffered this with their OEM ladder?

Thumbs Up

Not sure, but I have used a piece of black neoprene mouse mat cut to size in the past - cheap as chips and worked well. I did put some double sided sticky tape on it to adhere it to the ladder Thumbs Up

That's almost the same as I have already done but mine were heavy duty rubber pads that you stick onto the bottom of furniture. perhaps they're too heavy duty and don't provide enough resistance on the paintwork?

Does anyone know if you can buy the foam/rubber pad that comes with the OEM ladder as a separate item?
