Hello Craig,
My biggest worry is not not being able to open the rear tailgate as you can alsways open the window.
My problem is same as with the CT disco I want to keep it visual as original as possible but prevent it from being damaged.
I know I probably can hold back a couple of months but after that I will try to get the most out of the car. I know I am a reasonable good offroader (I say that myselves) but I always want to try just that little bit extra. And than I get a little fanatic and sometimes my car gets some battle damage. Till now I have to say only sctratches and small dents nothing real bad but the rear bumper looks to me being the first part I will put to the test I am atraid.
So I was interrested if somebody had a clever idea how to protect the original bumper. Without taking it off (sorry Gordon)Roel

Leave in the towing plough. That will hit a long time before the bumper. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I trimmed the lower plastic lip back to the level of the underlying steel crossbar, which prevents it scooping in so much mud and gives less areas to catch it on (and have it dragged off). It still doesn't solve the issue of hitting the leading side edges, which can bend the assembly and pop the clips, but it'll do until I can fabricate up an alloy replacement.
Cheers,

I've made a drawing of a possible solution. (I used a picture of a D3 underside to base my drawing on so the measurements are not correct)
The small holes are for the exhaust pipes and the big one is for the spare wheel. The vertical plates are for the connection with the frame.

It is 35 Kg in the current situation if it is made of 10mm alluminium.
@ RLD it's to cover this bit up
To prevent this happening:

The plate would need to go to the back edge of the rear bumper to avoid a pic B scenario though ....no?21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
