MOT on Tuesday but doesn't run out until the end of the month...
Having a whining noise whilst on the move, reckon it is a wheel bearing on the way out. Was expecting that to last a bit longer as she has only done 52k. Figure get her in for an MOT just in case any other bits need doing and do a job lot order from AF, either way will order wheel bearings this week and try and get them done amongst builders vans, dentist visits and other things I didn't know I was supposed to be doing
Oh by the way if anyone wants an original skinny spare wheel and tyre PM me. Free to a good home or it will end up as a unsuspecting garden ornament!!Series 2a V8 killed it

Hmmm. Wondering if this is turning into a blog thingy...
Good ole girl keeps trundling along...
Was on a course last week and one of the things we had to do was bring something important to you. Facilitator brought a towbar and the geek in me just went Disco 3 - caravan. Really need to find another interest!!
Turns out he has had his for 11 years and now that he has downsized his caravan the good lady is suggesting a smaller tow car. Lack of versatility in all the proposed cars so looks as if he is keeping his for a while. Besides nothing else can tow his delivery trucks out of peoples lawns in a mis-judged turn!
I am not amused by SWMBO. Calls my beloved disco 'The van' Just because we have picked up Ikea bookcases, dump run, dog runs, furniture collections and building materials does not indicate it is a crappy transit van
Really must get the wheel bearing done. She be a grumbling now....might have to book her in as am on more courses and also need to get the house back on track....

I'm back!!!
So wheel bearings were shot and unfortunately had to get the local garage to do it but only as I had 1 day off in 14 and SWMBO was not enthusiastic in me spending the day under the car. Nice and quiet now and her ladyship even said it was nice to drive again!
Treated her (the disco, people, the disco ) to a wash which lasted all of a day as the local avian population clearly did not like the look of it.
Followed by a 7 month puppy deciding to empty its bladder in the rear and my two dogs cowering in the corner in complete disgust.
Took a while to figure out what the bong was on start up and realized it was the service thingy. Hunters (Guava) had been chasing for a couple of weeks and have offered a fixed price service with a courtesy car. Will give them a go and see how it goes. Will let you know after Tuesday!!
All in all she just keeps on rolling. No complaints from her. Just get in and drive. 8) 8)Series 2a V8 killed it

So Hunters gave me a new toy to play with...
Tad smaller than I thought and this keyless entry start thing takes a bit of getting used to. Found it quite noisy both engine and road noise. With 30 degree heat the panoramic roof made it like a green house so when the blind was drawn felt even smaller. Horses for courses but still like Bella the D3 so there!!
Hunters picked up that the towbar hasn't been done under warranty and need to replace. Unfortunately they can't unlock it so need to squirt release juice in there for a bit and take it back.
On the downside 30 miles after picking the D3 up from service I get the dreaded bong and normal suspension only message. Not happy. Hunters going to do a fault read next week and they (me) are hoping that it may just be a valve block that is at fault. We shall see...
Apart from that nothing else of note from Hunters re anything needing doing so providing the fault isn't a problem then all is good
Mind you the toilet is flowering nicely

Hats off to Advanced Factors again.
Ordered the compressor and kit. Ordered after 4pm on the Tuesday and wasn't expecting it until today so imagine my pleasure when it arrived on Wednesday.
Grass cutting put to one side and a jiggle of cars and work began in earnest...
Cover off - easy enough apart from a mouthful of grass seeds and the likes.
Unclip the multi connectors
Two pipes - easy peasy
Third one - nope. Not going to come out. Cut and hope!
Bracket - two lower bolts no problem. Third bolt...what third bolt? Oh that bolt. Actually quite easy once I had taken the lower rubber mount screw out and lifted the pump off the fixed pin. Gave quite a bit of space that made it comfortable.
Whilst everything out the way took the opportunity to squirt Dynax S50 in and around
Remember to give it a chance to dry next time! Managed to get it on my arms and every where else whilst trying to put the new screw thingies in.
So put all back together but that top bolt was a and probably took a good 10 minutes of negiotiating spanners enough to get it to bite even with my trick of extra play with the pump.
Battery connected and springs into life. Messages galore and the feeling of doom. Seems my eagerness to try all the various stages even to extended in the space of a couple of minutes kind of made the pump and systems go into stuff you mode.
Walk away and have a cup of tea. Admire how versatile the old pump is...
So back to it. All messages gone and sits in normal happily, access mode good too. Offroad the back shoots up but the front looks like it is been done by a footpump and slow message pops up.
No leaks found so think it could be a valve block?
Test drive and no bongs. Good sign. Hasn't gone down overnight and driving today no messages. Compressor does seem a bit noisy but then I had the back window down. Window up and can't hear it so fingers crossed.
First time in two years that Bella the D3 has drawn blood. Appears I put my head on a sharp stone whilst upside down and as there is no longer any follicle padding head bled quite nicely. Me thinking it was sweat and SWMBO asking why have I got a bloody head!
The little bit of skin to the left. Boy makes a mess. I remember when there was hair. Now a bottle of head and shoulders lasts a year...Series 2a V8 killed it

Goddammit!!
So my dearly beloved asks to borrow the D3 to go to Ikea with a friend. Typically a full tank of diesel and none in her car I say yes...happily as it saves me the trauma of Ikea.
Sitting at work and get a text..."err think I've broken the car. Boot won't open"
Guess what I'm doing on Tuesday when the new actuator arrives.
Fitting the kitchen, dump runs and whisking her away for an anniversary treat just moved down the list

Love this forum!
So did the tailgate latch. Trim came off with a little bit of persuasion, found there was no watershed which made things easy.
One broken cable.
Used a fishtape to get in the gap of the metal folds and ta dah we are done. No scratched hands and very little swearing.
Might have to fill the bass space with something!!
Not losing these little
Waited with a cup of tea for the courier to deliver the actuator from Advanced Factors.
Fitted and trim back on in 20 minutes. Away on holiday an hour after that. Sooooooo many brownie points I am well in credit Series 2a V8 killed it

Slight discussion with an 40t artic who decided to cut the corner at 01:00 in the morning
The driver refused to give details until I rang the police who nicely said to him it would be in his own interest. Claims I did the damage as I reversed to prevent him taking off the bumper and bonnet as I had nowhere left to go. Considering I had stopped when he carried on not sure how he worked that one out.
On the positive makes me appreciate how tough the disco is. If I was in the SWMBO's merc or the little MG then without doubt there would be no car...not even going to mention the thought of being on the motorbike

puncture. New tyre needed.
Think I might get a remap. Need to do some research on here. Looking for slightly better MPG, bit of low down torque etc.

Now that is plain weird...
doing some unscientific testing. According to the guess-o-meter I get 24 to 25 mpg using cruise control on the motorway run to work sitting at 70 - 72.
Without cruise and just using the right foot 30 mpg! Same cruising speed etc.
Scared myself silly when I got 9 mpg on the two mile drive to take the dogs out for a run Series 2a V8 killed it

Heavy heart
Working hours have changed so now working more days (5 days like 'normal' people) and with fuel costs creeping up I will probably be selling my beloved truck
And the MG
Keeping the bike
I love these toys but less time to devote to them and a house to do up I have to be grown up about it.
Will put her up on the sale board in the next couple of weeks, Not many 61k miler D3 out there but prices are all over the place.
