More passenger door woes.
Well, this morning, for the third time, my D3 insists the passenger door is open. No amount of opening and closing / slamming seems to help. On all three occasions it has done the this, the door hasn't even been opened between being OK, and the startup check deciding the door is open (yes, I do wait for the bong). Seems to clear itself if I leave it for a few hours.
Can't seem to find a door switch anywhere, I figure it must be inside the door / lock.
Will have to book it in sometime, unless anybody has any wisdom they can share.

Anybody got any ideas on this, as it's all the time now?
The earliest my local dealer can take a look and give me a courtesy car is early next month.
It really needs sorting, as the interior lights stay on whenever I lock the car, unless I remember to turn them off manually first. Will end up with a flat battery at this rate.

Finally got the door fixed on Wednesday - no more honking horn when locking or having to remember to turn the interior lights off manually. Faulty door catch apparently, which was replaced.
Hooray!!
... or so I thought.
I have just been woken up at 2 a.m. by the alarm going off (yes, it is quiet isn't it?) I turned it off, and tried to reset it. Horn beeped, lights stayed on. Strange. Went outside to find that door is playing up again, just as before. The alarm going off must have been the car thinking somebody had opened the door.
Grrrrr!!! Bloody car. It took me 3 weeks to get it into the garage last time, now it's gone wrong again!!

Sounds like a faulty batch of locks (or a faulty tech fitting them!)Have a nice day!

the only place I can think the switch would be is between the two hinges, as it is made of plastic (looks that way) and isn't used to limit door travel as the hinges do this so I pressume that this actuates the door switch. maybe remove the trim and see if it needs adjusting or is broken, or the switch has moved/faulty.
that is if you haven't sorted it already

Just to add to the options...what about a loose connection? Not in the door, but elsewhere in the loom/junction with fuse board. I say this, as:
- slamming the door made no difference
- it did it on its own (two poss examples - 1. OK when warm, but as aircon cools down car it triggered and 2. It did it at night, as air temperature fell)
- the catch was replaced, suggesting problem may not be there
..and therefore could be related to temperature contraction/expansion of the connection. Goodness knows where you look.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

There was also an early issue with the door loom not being positioned correctly causing it to rub on metal edges, if this is happening and there is moisture in the door (which will be worse at night) this could possibly cause the CJB to think the door has been opened...
