POI`s on sat nav?
My search for a used D3 continues I’m now thinking of a SE or HSE as these come with Sat Nav fitted will I be able to load POI`s ? particularly speed camera locations as currently I’m using a Garmin Zumo 550 on my bike (as the zumo is water proof) & car I have found the POI`s to be very…Handy.
Also I guess it uses a CD for the mapping as there is mention of the Nav disk on the forum pages so when I buy a used Land Rover should I get the latest version of this or will I only get the one supplied with the car from new? As my Garmin needs an up date every year I could be buying a 3 year old version of Land Rover`s mapping.

Sorry, no speed trap POIs on LR system, they assume it's a LR & doesn't go too fast!

I use poi(am),if you touch the screen while in nav mode, is One of the last option appearing on the bottom center right corner of the screen.
No big Help, but better than a kick in the face figuring it out!!!!
the best feeling:getting airborne.

Regarding the navi disc issue, I'm sure the dealer will very happily sell you the latest disc with the car but otherwise, I would expect to be provided only with the original out-of-date one.
Unless of course you can twist an arm or two.Clive

The Nav disc is in DVD format not CD. I know members on here have looked at the POI's to see if it is possible to create a new copy of the Nav disc but with added POI's but as yet nobody has managed it. I think it's because the POI's are not stored in a normal POI manner or format. Something such as tomtom allows you to easily add and customise POI's but I guess because the Nav disc is a DVD there is no way that people "should" be able to copy and change it so there was no "need" to store the POI data in a friendly way on the disc.
Personally I've found the POI's to be reasonable as long as you enter the name of the poi you want and not just look it up under the categories, as there seems to be a lot of POI's that don't appear under categories or certainly under logical categories.
Overall I think the Land Rover Sat Nav is probably quite good, BUT you need speed a week reading the manual and learning how to get the most out of it. I'm still finding new things with it. Whereas my tomtom is better than the Land Rover Sat Nav and takes 30 seconds to learn how to use, oh, and it's a whole lot cheaper.D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Thanks for the help …looks like I will just have to just learn to get on with the Land Rover one as one stuck on the window isn’t really an option

Where do you find the manual for the sat nav? My 58 plate HSE has no specific Sta Nav manual that I have found so far. (No doubt I will now be told that it is somewhere obvious and I just haven't tried hard enough!)D4 SDV6 XS Orkney Grey
