Problem on route to dealer

Car was booked in for a service this morning (4th service, 50k miles).

The car started to become unresponsive when pressing the accelerator. It would after a second or so kick in.

Then various warning lights came on (parking brake failure, gearbox etc).

Stopped the car and restarted and the warning lights went off but the lag from the accelerator was still there.

Should hopefully hear back what the problem is later today.

Any ideas what this could be?

David

Stuck / sticking EGR valve would be favourite for me.

The garage have phoned to say the car is ready. Found no hardware faults but cleared the error codes.

Hopefully this will solve the problem?

Going to collect the car now so will see how it is.

Did they record what the codes were? Without those codes it's just guess work. Re the problem reoccurring I wouldn't bet on it not hapenning again. Sad

Think DSL is correct - sorry to have to seem to be the harbinger of doom but I very much doubt it Sad

Picked the car up. Drove about a mile and it did it again.

Turned around and went back (it did it once more).

They put it back on the computer and showed me the fault codes. He said none were engine related and were all old minor faults which had been cleared.

I said there is obviously something wrong and it needs fixing.

They are going to look into the codes to see if any are gearbox related and phone me tomorrow.

Drove the 10 miles home and it did it numerous times in the first few miles but was then fine.

Feels like its going to be a long drawn out process Evil or Very Mad

If you can get the codes and post them peeps can give you a better idea what's wrong. Sad to say peeps here have a lot more experience and techie knowledge than some dealers. Thumbs Up

Thanks, i'll try and get them.

Worse thing is they charged me for looking at it (it was in already for a service) and said as no fault was found the warranty woiuld not cover it.

If you have the lights, then get LRA. Becomes a warranty issue then.

Have a look at this thread - some striking similarities

As reported many times before,my 2012 D4 has the same hesitation problems and it definitely pulls away from standing at a junction in 2nd (even on a slight incline).

Last night I came up to the junction where I always get hesitation, stopped and used the paddles. It showed 2nd again and I used the paddles to go down to first. It then pulled away without hesitation!

So, it is definitely a gear box problem which can and should be sorted out with a software fix. It is also, I believe, partly the brake peddle switch, as it always occurs having used the brakes.

SURELY, LR can come up with a fix before someone has a nasty prang Evil or Very Mad

That's my worry that this would cause an accident.

I called LRA this morning and they have come out to the car.

No faults found and the car would not do the fault on a test drive whilst he was here so I've just got to carry on.

Hopefully that will be the end of it?

Liam's our man, and as long as we keep giving him details, I'm sure he'll do his best to rattle the cages at LR Engineering! Whistle

Paul I believe that is exactly the situation I suggested on the "hesitation" thread last week http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic91162.html ....the software clearly will not allow engagement of 1st in auto mode while the car is moving at all.......Dave T carried out the same test as you at a junction where he does not come to a complete standstill....the car hesitated in full auto mode, but did not when manually (paddle) asked for 1st gear.....I genuinely believe this is the "hesitation" issue,as I'm sure I recall the Cayenne had a similar problem

Update on this.

Car played up yesterday morning so called LRA.

They came out but no faults showing.

This morning playing up again and all warning lights on.

Called LRA again and AA just been out. Plugged computer in but no fault codes showing?

I'd taken pictures of the warnings on the dash. He advised taking car to main dealer to be looked at so I'm in there now waiting for a hire car.

Car will be looked at on Monday.
