Puddle Lights Question.
I know there has been talk on the forum about puddle lights in the past so to clarify I am asking about the ones in the bottom of the doors, not the ones in the external mirrors.
In the D3 i changed the standard 5w bulbs to LED's in all the doors, brought from HIDS 4 U, in-fact everywhere, I removed them when the car went and swapped them all to the D4, all fine except the front doors.
I thought I had them around the wrong way so turned them around, still won't work, the rear door ones work fine so I decided to try them instead, same thing, nothing, so with the bulbs working in the rears I disconnected the actual holder and tried it in the front door, all I get is a slight flicker on then nothing.
Has anyone else put LED's in the front door? Or does anyone know if the voltage has been dropped due to the other puddle light in the mirror housing?2015 D4 HSE LUX Kaikoura Stone(sold)

I've added LED to all the door puddle lights and foot wells, they all work OK, but I did notice on one that I needed to pull the bulb out from the holder a little bit to get it to work consistently as I got a similar symptom as you, it would flicker.

Mr.Tom, tried that but will have ago again, but I did swap the whole bulb holder over with the rear one thats working fine.
Mash, not my cuppa I'm afraid, not only that I have the D4 logo in the mirror, and I would imagine they use an LED as well, so if I cannot get mine working I might just be wasting money.

Exact same thing happened to mine - my14 too. Front door puddles under the door don't work with LED bulbs, so I added inline resistors - now one works, one still doesn't with the LED bulb in. Fine if I put the original bulb back in. Stumped.

Yep mine are okay if i put the original dingy bulb in, it must be something to do with voltage, but what considering the draw from the standard bulb must be greater than the LED bulb, and why do the rear doors work okay, is it something to do with the mirror logo light, is the feed split, I will take the door card off but waiting till the car is registered to us before i do anything major to it.2015 D4 HSE LUX Kaikoura Stone(sold)

Well, just been and had another play with the lights, rear door light measures a good solid 12.3v without the LED bulb connected, no problem though with the rear doors.
On to the front, It seems as though if trying to fit any other bulb with some sort of resistance built in, it does not like it and turns the power off until the next time the door is opened. So tried to put my meter on the bulb terminals and as soon as the second one touches it shuts down, so tries my test light, does the same, obviously these have resistors and all sorts fitted in side.
So refitted the boring bulb again and managed to get a reading on the multimeter this time when the bulb is working and it shows up as 11.8v
So I am thinking that LR have done something inside, possibly to do with the mirror light feed.
I would presume that the normal filament bulb will run at a slightly lower power but the LED's need a good solid 12v upward to turn on ???? 2015 D4 HSE LUX Kaikoura Stone(sold)

The new B4 2014 onwards has a combined earth for all mirror functions,
Any voltage imbalance is detected and the power is shut down to prevent burning out of, mirror motor, power fold motor, puddle light, blind spot indicators and indicator led.
Only the wade sensor and camera and heat circuit are seperate in the mirror wiring.
Even the switch power for fold is shared with the mirror pitch power dependant on the control switch selector position.

Cheers robbo, so basically I am b d really trying to fit the LED's to the front doors, just have to stick to the boring crappy bulb. 2015 D4 HSE LUX Kaikoura Stone(sold)
