| Sat on move...upgrade not possible...??? |

I have asked my stealer if it would be possible to upgrade my GPS in my 06MY so I could use entry while moving...
Aswer: well, you could do that but we wont....yet...We did this already on several D3 and just a few
of them are working, all the other just blocked...
Could this be the case or are they just avoiding my question?
Any other people heard about this?
I think I've read onhere some time ago that it would be possible...
Reply's could come in handy for the next time I go back in, so I can explain them how a Laro Works

Yes it can be done ..i have had it ...and so have many others ..
I think a lot of the time they tell you it won't work , because they don't know what there doing ... G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I also have an 06MY and a dealer did mine with no problems
THey can charge about £90 although it's just a software download I guess they justify it due to the time it takes

Rocar Moore in Huddersfield told me 4 weeks ago that
1. they had tried several times on different D3s and never got it to work
2. the software was faulty
3. they knew of no successful attempts by any dealers
4. they knew of several dealers who found the same as them
5. they had just received a new version that day but hadn't evaluated whether that worked.
I had hoped to search the forum to make a list of owners who have had it done, and PM them for details. Not easy to find 
If anyone would like to PM me with age of D3 and dealer who succeeded I would be grateful 
I must confess I've not been back to them about the new software... 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

you must have at least the
YIW500250 or YIW500260 sat disc for this to be able to be done...
all vehicles we have done the upgrade on have taken, no problems TLO has left the building.......

I 've checked my Disc.....seems i have the YIW500012 
Can it still be done or do I have to get a 250-260....?
Will my 06MY work with a YIW500260?

Well hi there, this being my first post I'm not sure if I'm doing things right so forgive any strange things that may happen:-)
I have had all the above issues and eventually after 2 attempts at upgrading to on the move my dealer told me it just would not take. Thus also NO CHARGE for the attempt!!!
I then bought the 260 disc, installed and hey what do you know it now works not a problem  and no cost

So Andrew, what you are saying is that you purchased the YIW500260....and even without the update done the "sat on move" works...?
Or do I get you wrong?
Or would it be because you have the update donde before...

You need to have either
YIW500200
YIW500250
YIW500260
for this to work ..you still have to get the dealer to enable it.
Earlier disks

Hi all,
I have had 'issues' updating sat nav on the move.
When reprogramming you have to update the software in various modules with IDS or similar. What I found is if you carry out the procedure in the TSB it may, or may not work. What I found was on troublesome models you have to upgrade the front entertainmant module software, then when you select update destination on the move' it will, downgrade to slightly older software, do the destination on the move & then put the latest software back into the front entertainment module automatically. This is all after the latest Sat Nav dvd disc YIW500260 was used
BTW the reflashes, especially for a 2005 vehicle may take 2-3 hours or more of IDS connection time, so it's a little unfair to 'expect' this for no charge, although many dealers seem to be completing this under a goodwill gesture while other work is carried out..
