Do any members of this forum travel the A1 north of Ferrybridge fairly regularly?
Do you have the latest satnav dvd (YIW500200) installed in your car?
Does it show the new A1(M) Ferrybridge section of road that opened last year or do you end up "off-roading" at motorway speeds round the back of the power station and through the river?
Does it show the new section of A1(M) that has now been opened for the last couple of years up at Wetherby or is that another "green fields at 70mph" adventure?
Just wondering how much difference there is between the new disc and my old YIW500012 version and is it worth the expense of upgrading. From reading other threads, I understand that Ireland has a lot more coverage but how about the UK?Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

Nope, still off-roading around Ferrybridge.
Was playing with the Sat Nav in an Audi A8 (designed at much the same time as the LR) the other day and the difference in detail, clarity and coverage is, from our side of the fence, rather dissapointing.
The Disco system would appear the budget option. As for the updates on the new disc, cant find any for England yet and travel reasonably widely across our green and pleasant land.
Ho hum, still love the car but wonder if the system, that is less than 'premium', could be enhanced or bettered without to much agg on LR's part.NOW SOLD: 2006 TDV6 SE Auto Zermatt silver with Alpaca Leather

is the difference between standard nav and premium nav on the D3 just the off road stuff or is there more detail on the premium version (on-road) than standard.???

From what I understand, the majority of the updates of the latest disc is updates to European countries, particularly Ireland.
Matt is correct - the disc makers (Denso Corp) confirmed this when I got on their case about the 1791 code no longer working. With the new disc loaded, you will still be offroading at high speed on both of those sections of the A1(M). HOWEVER, in it's defence, the new disc does seem to have updated POI info - on a couple of occasions, I've found hotels listed that I know for certain were NOT listed on the previous discs.DGRR
Oh well, as I don't stay in hotels very often, I shall save my pennies. Thanks for that boysNow an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

LR should have released a new service bulletin to all dealers by now... a few weeks ago (see my posts in "Satnav on the move"), disc-maker Denso told me that this was happening for the benefit of those who have installed the latest (YIW500200) disc in their pre-07MY car.
Perhaps our friends at Lakeland LR could advise?DGRR

IDS 104 Patch 3 (December 2006) provides for:
TMC Navigation on the move issue Revised TMC Software - To Support Navigation on the Move with Revised HLDF Software update
I assume the dealer would charge for loading this patch.
They charged me £45 when my car last went in for the enhancement upgrades, as I asked them to upload the software for the tow bar electrics at the same time.Matt
