Just to say I have used quite a few recent Satnav systems and none of them know about the new road sections you describe. I imagine by the time the D4 comes along it will be sorted.Serial Depreciation Victim
£45 is far too much for what is effectively a tick in a box, especially as they'll have all the kit plugged in to do the software side of the VEP anyway. It 'gets my goat' that you can buy the stuff to fit yourself then have to pay extra to get it enabled
Matt, you should have mentioned it when we were it at Yarwell, we had the kit with us then to enable the tow kit The End
I said exactly the same to the dealer. My words were "when you do the software upgrade, add in the tow bar electrics software as it is probably just a tick box to enable the extra upload. But don't bother if it is any more as it's not that important and its not something I'm willing to pay for".
Then at the end of it they try to charge me. So I refuse. They then keep chasing me by phone over the next week or so. They say they tried to get LR to pay for it under the warranty, but this wasn't possible. They then agree if I settle the invoice, they will give me a credit of the same value on my first service. So I eventually paid the bill and have a letter entitling me to the discount.Matt
TMC Navigation on the move issue Revised TMC Software - To Support Navigation on the Move with Revised HLDF Software update
After discussions today between my dealers senior tech and LR it had become apparent that this patch is only to resolve an issue on 07MY vehicles, IDS DVD 105 (or possibly a patch for it) will contain the update for older ones, so we have to wait a bit longer The End

Sat Nav..great if you know where your going...if not get a Map & Compass.
eg. I Turn Left out of my drive [on a main road] to go to York. The Sat Nav askes me to:- Turn Right, then Turn Left, then Turn Left, then Turn Left, then Turn Right....it takes me through a local housing estate to bring me back 50yds down the road from my house!!!
Sat Nav..great if you know where your going!!

Sat Nav Reflash
I can confirm that it definitely does not work on 06MY cars. I had the IDS patch installed today and the only thing that I can tell is different, is that the radio lost all it's settings. Not a single thing changed on the sat nav, it did not even change the user settings.

So to sum up.....
The new CD which I just forked out over £100 not only gives me no noticable upgrade in mapping, but since my motor is 54 plate then I can't even have the 'use on the move' upgrade either.
That'll be why I noticed NO DIFFERENCE at all when I collected ol' landy from the dealers after it got 'pimped' an hour ago.
Just noticed DVD105 and patches 1 & 2 for it are out, not sure when they came out as I haven't checked for a while
Release notes are very basic and don't reveal what the updates include but after some digging through the .xml files included in patch 1 I found "7650:Navigation system \\ 7655:Enable destination entry on the move", so it's there at last, whether it's applicable to pre 07MY vehicles I don't know but if anyone's heading towards a dealer soon get them to look into it. I'm not planning to go near a dealer until I need a 45k service in a month or twoThe End
