I think they are just locating lugs for the box to keep it in place when closed... but if it works

Top find.
After 14months of dodgy driving to hold the curry bag in my left hand and drive and work the commoners manual gearbox, tonight I felt like a Lord.

I did this trick of slipping the handle of the curry bag over the corner of the glove box lid a few weeks ago and found it worked really well.
Little did I know that I was using something that had been designed for that purpose, strange they don't show it in the handbook if it was designed that way.
Will I get my rod in?

Sorry...but they aren't curry hooks by design. As Simon says they are just locating lugs. Who on earth would be daft enough to put carrier bag hooks on the inside of a glove-box Anyway, for some desperate and disillusioned curryphiles I guess they work and that's all that counts eh For us purists though there's only one place the hook can go Powered by TorqTune

I think that crash regs are to blame here. A hook in the passenger footwell is possibly something that they don't want to have (or can't have legally).
The new curry hook solution works very well - if there is no passenger you can open the glovebox and use the hook. If there is a passenger, the glove box is closed and there is no dangerous projection. The passenger can be responsible for the safe passage of all gourmet delicacies.

Yep, tried it last night with a huge bag of Chinese and it did the trick. Great find.
Just need something to stop the cans of Red Bull rattling in the cup holders now...
