Its a good question and like I said, I'm certainly no expert. My son is a Landy Tecchie and I'm generally guided by him. I understand if it decides its not getting the right air mix, it can reduce power and then throw a bit of a wobbler. But its ok at the moment. Probably because its stuck partly open in a reasonably ok position.

Blanked/removed gubbins mine of this week after experiencing low power below 2000 rpm, which isn't good when trying to pull away with 1900kg of caravan behind you!
Power restored and D3 pulls like a train again! The best £18 spent on bits.
MOT yesterday, all good, no issues. Result 2005 D3 TDV6 S - EGR's blanked, RRS front lower wishbones, detangoed

EGR and Alternator repairs |
|
Went down to my LR garage after the big service (cam belts replaced) and got offered the following
"Replace battery and alternator £717 inc vat
Replace left hand exhaust gas recirculation valve £423.69 inc vat
Replace both rear upper arms, and realign the cars tracking £901 inc vat"
Any buyers? Dodgy Landy

Ouch. You can get the battery and a Den so OE alternator for around £350 and it's around 90min to fit them. Easy enough diy job.
As for the arms, see Steve at advanced factors for prices -any competent local garage would be able to fit them. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

It might be worthwhile considering driving to the UK, particularly id you have other reasons to visit (bring plenty of Sancerre).
You could then have the work done by an Indy in close proximity to Dover or Portsmouth - Geoff. & West 4x4 spring to mind, but there are others.
Have both EGRs blanked of course - not just one.

are there any reports of any snags, deterioration, longer term issues, or the potential for some harm
it would be good to know from an official source....
Question:
do other users of the engine (Jag S-Type Peugeot, Citroen) have issues ?...or is it just LR
what do D4's have ? BREXIT - done properly.

2007 EU4 disco 3 and RRS EGR blanking and remap/software patch is on going with NO issues at all.
1. Engine light on and EGR faults stored, no problem. Blank and remap £349 (no problems again)
2. Already remapped with EGR faults, no problem. Remap left alone and EGR patch and blank £349
3. Standard car with EGR faults, Left standard and EGR blank fitted and software patch £349
No Remap.
4. No EGR fault but you want it turning off/removing, no problems for future and better mpg £349.00
We can now even leave everything as standard and turn off EGR duty cycle. Pipes still on, not that we do this but we can. Everything would need to be working 100% first. EGR closed fully.
It is possible to blank 2007 onwards eu4 vehicles!
We have carried this out many times now, no issues just happy customers.
Can be carried out while you wait including Saturday mornings.
We have one in today 2008 D3 customers waiting.

How can your price still be £349 without the remap?
Surely for those of us that have already blanked and remapped, but have egr fault codes and light the service would be cheaper? It's better to burn out, than fade away...
