Back 'timing' belt

I am just about to do my timing belts and it has been suggested i dont really need to change the back one as all it does is the fuel pump. If that one breaks its not a disaster.

Has anyone had the back belt break?

Should i get it changed?

Advice please chaps.

Won't cause engine damage but depending on where you are when it breaks it could cause you a big head ache! May as well just do it in my opinion Thumbs Up

As above. No damage will be caused to the engine, or fuel pump, but it is an inconvenience that is easily avoidable Thumbs Up

It's not a particularly big job to do, just a bit fiddly Thumbs Up

With yours being a 2007 model I suggest you read this thread.. http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic107112....c7635148ed

Although not a big job the rear belt on MY2007 cars is not as accessible as the older models, it seems to be a bit tighter on room and the belt cover is a different shape and has clips on it, make sure you do not drop them..

Flack Thumbs Up

Thank you Flack. I have been following this and have signed up to the research thread. It is very definitely on the radar.

Thumbs Up
