Wowsers Farmerboy you have had a close call!!
Glad Flack has caught it just in time fella...
He's doing mine on the 15th, so just hope mine holds out! 57 plate with 44k on it now...
LR not admitting issues is not uncommon across the car industry to be honest... It happens all the time!
The 2.4, 5 cylinder diesel engine in the 159/Brera/Spider have a DMF that self destructs, wiping out the gearbox, and it's well known but never admitted amongst the dealerships or Alfa UK...and if you remember the good old 'k' series engine used in Rover/MG and Lotus. They never did admit the head gasket failures were down to poor design. Even though there's an aftermarket triple layer metal upgrade available!
Happy to throw a tenner in chaps for a good cause by the way! It's better to burn out, than fade away...

I'm in for a tenner too - we only need 60 or 70 of us to make this viable.
Farmerboy - can you edit the thread to include a sign up? A collective group effort may finally get LR to take interest Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

I have just finished watching the "Dagenham Girls" movie on BBC2 - about the car seat machinists who took action to gain equal pay. I guess they knew their cause was just and reasonable and succeeded in changing the law of the land (and many other "lands" as well!)
.............so, it really does seem very unfair for a major manufacturer to "make a mistake" which can be very costly to some poor soul who aspires to own a Landrover - maybe causing untold grief and financial hardship in the process.... and then just ignore and or deny the problem exists - a new engine in a D3 is not easily affordable at best and catastrophic at worst.
I noticed that a cup of coffee on the motorway was about a fiver so a £10 contribution to a "fighting fund" seems wholly reasonable and worthwhile. I would be very happy to make a contribution in both cash and time.
I shall set up a vote thing to gauge interest. (if I can work out how to do it)
I would be interested to hear if anyone on here has any legal expertise or any experience of "proving" that something is faulty - not really sure how to go about this type of thing (ie sale of goods or not fit for purpose????)
Does anyone know anyone in the media - TV or radio?
Anyone work for Landrover?
Not sure what sort of outcome we would expect but it would be nice to "stand up and be counted" even if all we did was to rattle Landrover's cage.... 2007 Base D3 - Buckingham Blue

I think you need to do it as a sign up rather than as a poll.
I'm happy to assist in pulling this together as I've assisted quite a few on here with this issue.
It would need the oil pump casing you had taken off and nothing tamperd with it. If you or flack have the old bolt and timing belt tensioner and even the belt that would just help to provide a more solid case Bodsys Brake Bible

I agree that this should be a sign up rather than a poll.
