Driving Light install Pt1
Finally got round to mounting my Lightforce 140's.
My neighbour who is retired offered to make some brackets for me. Picture shows them painted black but they are made from stainless steel and are 4mm thick.
I put some foam tape on the back just to protect the bumper from rubbing.
I used some existing holes for mounting just inserted some rivnuts. Couple of photos showing these holes and trim.
Trim in place. You can see the 3 holes. These have plastic screws to keep the trim in place. I used the 2 outer ones.
Trim removed.
Passenger side rivnut in place.
To get the bracket to sit flat I had to trim a couple of lips from the bumper. When everything is in place you can't see this as it's behind the grill.
Then just bolt down the brackets. The 2 cuts slots from the bumper should give a bit of side to side stability.
With grill in place.
Then mount the lights.
Couple of head on shots.
Might need to do a bit of fine tuning but won't know that until I wire them up.
I think they look really good and am well pleased with them. One drawback is you need to take them off to remove the grill but I can live with that.
What do you think.
Cheers

Looks great.
Any tips to protect the lights from theft?
I'm pretty sure that any non-standard accessory that is just bolted on with the nut/bolt in plain sight won't make it past the 1 month mark before it finds a new home without my approval
Been there when my Defender lost it's roof bars and driving lights one night Dennis

Was thinking the same about security. There must be some kind of anti theft device/locknut out there somewhere. Have used the nuts with the nylon insert so you would need to use a couple of spanners at least.

Ya looking really good, wasn't think of hanging any lamps off mine but you my have changed my mine...... Like the brackets, every Landy should have something home made / custom made on it.

The brackets are quite simple really, although I did get someone to make them. Due to the dimensions the top part had to be welded on. And using the mounting holes I did gives a good position I think. I you need any dimensions for the brackets just give me a shout

I made similar brackets but braced them down the back of the bumper.
