My new disco3 hse
Hi guys I'm new to the site and just thought I'd introduce myself.
I have just purchased a 55 reg hse.
I have a few questions but the first thing that I'd need answered if poss is?
Is there any way of telling if my car has had the cam belt changed?
As my car has done 122000 and I brought it with service history but no service book.
I just done trust the dealer I brought it off as he said that the cam belt had been changed but just would like some peace of mind.
Thanks Sam.

Phone up the previous servicing garage, any half decent one will have a record of what's been done as they have to keep records by law now

Well the story with is quite long winded but basically it was a company owners car which has over 300 vehicles in the fleet and the do their own servicing as they have a fully functioning workshop. I have checked out the company and this does check out with the previous owner on the log book.
So i was told that services were done in house and as should've been done including the cambelt.
But I have no receipts or service book.

Welcome Hocks.
As the guys above said contact the dealer in question and get it confirmed.
If not splash out anyway - shatstones were offering £600.00 for belts only - worth it for peace of mind.
A recon engine being around the £5k mark!!
I trust you will get to love it like the rest of us lunatics.

For peace of mind I would get the belts done yourself, a lot cheaper than taking a gamble & then having to pay ££££££££ for a new lump!! D3 HSE Zermatt Silver

Thanks I've just had it serviced at my local Indy and they quoted between £600-£700. For it but I have sent a email to the company and a letter so hopefully I'll hear something back quick if not wil have to fork out for the belts soon rather than later.
