[Wanted] NS D3 headlamp unit after massive detango cockup
Just had a bloody nightmare - detango'd one of my headlights yesterday - it looked great, but I wasn't too happy with the reseal.
Leave until the morning I thought - it's too late ,don't want to ruin it.
Today, tried the oven method -someone came to the door - I go back to oven as quick as I can to find my headlamp dripping black plastic - F---------------k !!
I was getting myself all hyped up to 'de-tango' - you have now scared me.....
You'll be ok jumpinjack.
It was purely my cockup. If I'd just left well alone this morning all would have been well.
Looking back, a bead of sealant would have solved it (if there was a problem in the first place !!!)
I'll calm down and go again -but not today -too furious with myself - good job my Mrs has gone to Newcastle for a couple of days -it's guaranteed I would have started an argument - and I would have lost that one as well Original Owner.
That really sucks. How lond do you think it was in for in total this morning?A shapely pair of legs is one thing but a nice bum is not to be sniffed at.

How do you explain to the Mrs when she next uses the oven and complains its making a "funny burning smell" ?
Pretty difficult to explain you'd put your car headlights in there.... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Adding xenons to my 2006 S was the single best mod I've done on mine. 8)
The difference between halogens and xenons is like night and day!

just six minutes to do that, how hot was the oven?
Thought I'd read somewhere here that it took about 15minutes at 100 C to just to soften the seal?Arthur.
Comedy was a horse, Harvey a dog, both sadly gone. Thought I was choosing a password!
