Turn key to 1, a distance countdown to the next service appears for 5 secs, a (-) sign before the readout means it has gone over by that amount.
The distance displayed is worked out by the eng.man.system and is automatically adjusted to allow for driving style and conditions.
After 5 secs the total milage covered is displayed.
If the button is pressed within 5 secs. the next service date will be displayed .
This seems good but whist I saw this when the car was young I haven't seen it for a while and think LR have disabled it on mine. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

With a FSH it's worth around £12/13k privately, but this doesn't and will need the big service and belts. The air compressor is likely due to break also, there's £2k repairs straight away.
If you can get it under £12k and are willing to take the risk i would say go for it. Disco 3 HSE

Also at that mileage, if it hasn't been serviced then it hasn't had any other work done on it, expect to need new suspension arms too. There's another £500 - £800 depending on where it's done.
Seriously chap, I'm sure it's very convenient and the offer is right there but if you want to spend even £12k on a motor of that age you'll get one A LOT better maintained out there elsewhere.
Why buy a 2.75 tonne, complex and demanding, vehicle that hasn't been maintained properly by the previous owners admission for a price that's way over the odds for one that's been perfectly maintained.

I have just been offered £6500 part exchange from 2 different dealers and they wouldn't negotiate further
Mines 05 plate 83000 miles & FSH, so 14k does sound a lot

Advice buying a MY 05 TDV6 HSE |
|
I would strongly suggest walking away. These cars need inspection and servicing annually. This one may have been owned without the budget to maintain it. These are wonderful cars but need maintained. I am always surprised at the work necessary to maintain them but the car puts a huge smile on my face every time I drive it. In addition to the maintenance the warranty work also keeps the garage busy. I have used the extended warranty. While this appears expensive I think it has been value for money, especially in the last two years. I can't believe this Disco has spent so little time in a garage! Something does not quite add up. Find a well maintained one and at a lower price.[/b] SAAB 9-3 Convertible (bought before they all disappear)
D3 TDV6 HSE 2007 Black with Alpaca interior (gone and much missed)
Uncle Ray Wheel Protector (best accessory ever bought bar none)
SAAB 9-3 Sportwagon (daily driver)
Ford Galaxy (traded in for Discovery, less said about this car the better)
Saab 900 Green 5 door (gone missed)
SAAB 900 Black 3 door (gone missed)

Thanks for all the advice. Seems she won't budge on price, so no deal. Anyone know of any similar D3's for sale. Preferably under 80k miles and FSH.

Walk away!
Engine is probably . The oil changes are far too long at 15k anyway - particularly using the low spec oil that LR specifiy. Everything else on a vehicle can be fixed at a price but if the engine has not been serviced on a discovery your looking at up to10k for a new engine.
Find a vehicle that has been loved and cared for an LR history is only the very basics.
Good look.
