We welcome to our family, a 2007 (08MY) Disco 3. Name to be chosen. Already earning its Land Rover reputation of turning us into Technicians. Failed within the first 2 weeks...... So far got dirty hands on,
1. Wheel Bearing (OSF)
2. Tailgate Lock Handle Switch.
3. A/C Compressor spectacular failure and swiftly replaced due to heat!
4, Transmission Whine..... Investigation ongoing, thinking its Front Diff.
5. Suspension Fault, something to do with compressor software.
6. Removed Side Steps as completely rusted, now got some holes in Sill Trims and Start of rusty Sills!

That's no joke. For me it was preventative maintenance, as I didn't want it to fail and wreck the engine. Not that expensive and takes no time at all to change.

So my weekend is rapidly becoming LR upgrade day
Got ya, I'll stick it on the growing list of todo's.
Don't think I have ever changed an oil pump..... Thought things had moved on? Our 66 Volvo Amazon is fairing better than this Discovery.

Ouch....
That's a touch harsh.
We have a 4x4 as we need it now, this was more comfortable than most and had a decent room for the 6th/7th seats and the ability to tow safely.
Just amazed it's needing so much work in the first few weeks of ownership.

Compressor?
I have no idea but it's on the ramp at Newbury 4x4 right now getting a verdict! I'll try and have a nose.
Have a feeling today might be a wallet flincher!
No idea how to rotate it?!? [/b]

Hindsight I know but IMO always worth some knowledgeable bod taking a look over it before parting with cash 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Amazon Fans!
Yes..... We would like a restored one to, just seems to take time to get people motivated and free to do it!
Pic of current state! Mechanically ace, just bodged welded over repairs to sort and a bit of bodywork!

So.....
Monday Early doors for a osf wheel bearing and the very nice man at Newbury 4x4 is researching my suspension fault codes. Other than that, it's just a Land Rover.
Phew! And yes...... Hindsight..... Lesson learned and next time I'm getting inspection done and a genuine warrantable from Land Rover vehicle.
