Your very welcome! Thumbs Up

Thanks LandRoverAnorak for the link... I was aware of the rules for fog lights but assumed aux lights wouldn't be quite as strict!

My roof lights are switched independent from all others. However they are switched via a remote fob so the mot tester won't be able to find a switch Whistle

Cheers

VERY many thanks for this most valuable data.

Heh, heh, no problem. I looked into this years ago when I fitted roof lights to a Discovery 1 and it's come up regularly on various forums (fori?) ever since.

Regs in oz say that lights have to be in pairs, so strictly speaking mine isn't legal, but it is switched separately to my two spots on the bull bar, so if mr plod wants to check I can show him that the light bars don't come on with high beam, and are just for show.

Will grab a pic of the interior light shortly

Checked out these on the UK site and they still come from Oz! Big Cry

But I really like them.... Do you think it would mount well on the dash above the screen?

AFAIK - the regs are that post '91 any additional lights that are switched with the main beam have to be "E" marked. If they are switched separately then I believe they can be any light.

There is an article in this months LRO magazine (just come through the letter box) on additional lights.

The reason I put the panel up top (apart from it looking cool) was that it does need a hole behind it to fit the ribbon cable and plug through. In my car there was a blank plug up top, which I thought I would just pop out and put the cable through - job done.....not so. With the hole under the panel, the number 5 button wouldn't work. The panel is flexible, and it really needs a hard surface behind it. So I ended up cutting the blank and fitting it back in there - all good

As far as fitting it above the screen (I assume satnav screen) just keep in mind that it does need a hole behind it for the cable. Other places I considered were on the drivers door panel, or just in front of the centre cubby box, facing forward but I thought that might be a bit tricky to look at and press the buttons

I'll agree it's the best place & it does look cool... Unfortunately I have a sunroof switch there!

I didn't really ant to cut a hole in the dash, as it would be an expensive part to replace. I'd better think on it!

I'm glad to say that my Roof Rack is now back on! Very Happy

The lights aren't 100% wired up, but for the purpose of the following pictures, I wired them to a drill battery! Thumbs Up

Is that a light bar?

I did consider a light bar, but I didn't want it to have a flood section in the middle of two spot sections.

Mine are all spot lights.
