white light

Bought some really cheap (£5 for 10) leds off the bay and they arrived this morning
Now don't get me wrong they are very cheap and quality isn't great but at that price they were worth a punt Whistle

They're a tight fit and the prongs are rubbish but they all work so fitted to all rows of ceiling light and front sidelights

Problem then was they were very white against the oem xenon Confused
Until I remembered the 6000k d2s bulbs I took off old car before I chopped it in (£20 on the bay again Embarassed) Idea

Anyway I think it's a great improvement and could even see the difference in daylight Mr. Green

Binned the Chinese hid bulbs as although white the actual light output is not as good as oem Confused

Replaced with:
OSRAM XENARC COOL BLUE INTENSE D2S xenon headlamp bulb 66240CBI-HCB

£72 off amazon from Germany, not as white at 4800-5000k but massive light output at 3200 lumens 8)

Just need to get some better sidelight bulbs as the leds I have are too bluey white and a bit chavy Embarassed

That little experiment didn't last too long then!! Are the new bulbs a big improvement on the oem bulbs?

They cost £72 so they must be Rolling with laughter

Hard to tell as the direct comparison was against the cheapo Chinese bulbs.

Saying that they are very good and there is a noticeable improvement over stock perhaps not as much as I was hoping for though after reading all the marketing hype Neutral

Have you got hids on yours Ben?

"They cost £72 so they must be Rolling with laughter "..............You keep telling yourself that!! I bet the misses thinks they were £10 for the set?!! Whistle

To be honest I don't know much about bulbs/lights, so if xenon are hid's then yes I have them!! If they are two different things then no I don't, I have xenons!!

To be clear, automotive HIDs are generally Xenon but other gases are used. Some standard filament bulbs still contain Xenon but this does not make them HIDs.

I have the same Osram bulbs in my car, had them in for 16 months now.
Fantastic light from them, i never used high beams as they have such a good range.

You may find some people flash you as they mistake the headlights for having the high beams on.
I usually flash them to show i don't have them on.

Great investment. Thumbs Up
