Later on I changed my sidelight bulbs for LEDs. This time I didn't get a failed unit. It could have been something from the LED affecting the headlamp, but I very much doubt it. I think it's much more likely, that the actuator mechanism was damaged somehow when I removed the headlamp. Now I took great care when handling it, but one thing I cannot guarantee was that I didn't turn the unit over when I had removed it.
I still haven't seen a post on here from someone who has successfully repaired one. There are two rules for success,
1. Never tell everything you know.
RLD Spare Wheel Protector
RLD Sump Guard
Narpy Style RRS Grille from Beanie
Discostick 3rd button FBH controller
IID BT
EGRs Blanked
Geoff Gearbox Flush
Prospeed sliders & compressor guard
