I have now been driving a couple of hundred miles with the V8 upgrade and have to say the change for the better is significant. Well worth the small investment to upgrade. Stopping is now like driving a car, and I am sure with the tintent on the back it will be even better.
So, if you are thinking about the upgrade, I would say do it now. The kits from Steve at Advanced Factors ensures you have all the parts you need and Bodsy's Brake Bible will explain all the tools and techniques you need.
I wish I had done this many years ago when we have a twin axle caravan loaded with family of 4, 2 kayaks on roof and 4 bikes on back! 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

I have a SE 2004, 18 inch alloys, am I right to think the V8 discs would fit with no problem?

Yes. The upgrade will fit 18 inch and larger wheels. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Same calipers, same pads
Bigger carriers, to allow fitment of larger discs
The pads sit further away from the hub centre, and provide greater "leverage" on the disc My D3 Build Thread

OMG - had my first emergency stop from about 60mph, with the upgraded V8 brakes. What an improvement. Great modification. Should have done it sooner. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Barn1e, its fun doing an emergency stop with the V8 Brakes, can't have anything on the rear seats now. Had some tw4t pull out a side road in front of me when I was doing 50+, I hit the brakes and everything in the back seat ended up on the floor and in the front with me.
My MacBook Pro hit the glove box and damaged the leaver that you use to open the glove box, now I'm looking for a new one. Dale

Yep, braking with the V8 has its disadvantages. I am still looking for an eyeball that popped out durng braking. I look more like a than a 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.
