Just got mine back from having the EGRs deleted. Starts much better, no more horrible rattle on startup and is doing about 1.5mpg better according to the dash readout.

Cold mornings - now not a problem!
Today I fitted a new FBH controller ready for the cold mornings. I was origanally going to use the GSM unit that lots of others have used, but the price went from £60 and jumped up to £240 on ebay so had a look around and found one that works on the third button on the LR key fob.
Arrived within a day of ordering, easy to install and worked perfectly, oh and the cost was £125 so a great saving.

It’s actually what I haven’t done. Planned to change the exhaust downpipe today as it’s blowing. Couldn’t even manage to get a spanner / socket on the ‘easy to reach’ nut of the 3! Didn’t go any further from that point.. 2005 Disco3 HSE Auto 😁

I refitted the oil breather separator and put everything back together after fitting new glow plugs. Started instantly first time. So I used the rest of my garage time polishing its bonnet (and no, that's not a euphemism)

Jacked her up and put axel stands in place, until the tools I need arrive. I also removed three covers to see the fan at the front of the engine. My undercarriage bolts are very difficult to take off right now, awaiting for breaker bar.
I really don’t want to tempt fate until I’ve seen which oil pump it has on.

Wanted to change gearbox oil with new sump and filter and service kit, but ended up just changing oil(with flushing machine). Left my car at the garage (gearbox repair specialists), got call an hour later - "we are not able to remove old sump, cross member is in the way, body probably needs to come off". Great.....
Phoned LR specialist who said its BS, body does not need to come off, there are few tips and tricks to get old one off and new sump installed, but he won`t tell what they are. So, ended up with just new oil. Going to see LR specialist in two weeks time for major service, who will then also replace sump and filter etc.
