My new Disco 3
So I've just bought my first ever Discovery this week, an unmolested '05 D3 SE in black with cream leather with 80k on the clock from a fellow site member. I thought I'd write a post to say how surprised and delighted I am with the car. Now I get what the fuss is about
I was planning on getting one a year ago, but for whatever reason I bought a BMW 5 series instead....big mistake. Family hated it, and frankly it was the wrong vehicle for me. I resented that I was really just paying for a badge. The disco however is perfect.
The build quality and ride is excellent, it feels like no other car I've owned. Solid. I'm also impressed with the design details, the rugged cabin materials (not seen these kinds of plastics used in a car before), the ergonomics and focus on utility without sacrificing luxury.
Only gripe is the fuel economy, but I knew that

Thanks guys
It was great to meet you too Pelyma, it was a much more relaxing drive back to wales than it was outward bound.
Pics, yep will post shortly. I polished the car yesterday and it looks like new, barely a mark on it. It's one very well looked after d3.
