Mine was showing 38+ last week after a fill up in Austria for about 15-20miles - shame it dropped to 21 after the climb to 6000ft - though did recover to average 30 (27true) over the tank.Mark.

It can be retro fitted
So I've read. But we do any motorway trips in our MY13 Antara (sat nav, cruise control, Bluetooth, leather, heated seats, reliable, 100,000 mile warranty ) and keep the basic Disco (no audio jack and a clock that loses 2 minutes per month ) for mostly local towing, lifting and carrying. I'm too mean. Went for a job as a human cannonball. Not the right calibre.

That may explain the "GS"
I jest, I only have an HSE as it came up at the right time and the right price.
If the same car came up and it was a lesser spec, I'd still have bought it My D3 Build Thread

The GS was all we could afford at the time as we'd just bought the house and paddock. We built the stables and fenced it a year later, bought a younger horse and moved our old guy from livery. I walked into the showroom and said "what's your cheapest car that'll easily tow 2 1/2 tonnes?" The D4 was due out soon and they were selling off new D3s from stock. Ours was a GS with 19" alloys and a body kit that included coloured bumpers and front PDC. We paid £28k including a £4k px. Tow bar and rubber mats were thrown in. A year later we'd saved up enough to buy a horse box to go with it. Our aim now is to keep both cars and the trailer indefinitely. Went for a job as a human cannonball. Not the right calibre.
There's still something nice about the basic spec models; an excellent car without having to pay for all the "fancy stuff". Shame LR have lost that mentality today. Too right...and all options are way over priced! Our front wheel drive Insignia sometimes got snowed in for weeks, so we looked to trade it in for a 4x4 crossover. Only the top-spec Antara had the options we wanted, but it had a lot of very expensive add-ons, too, which we weren't prepared to pay for. I also liked the Hyundai ix35, so the Vauxhall dealer sold us the top-spec model for the mid-spec price. Gift-horse-in-mouth time. 8) The first generation Antara (actually a re-badged Daewoo) was apparently a dog, but this revamped car has been fantastic. It's thirsty (36 mpg typ.) but that's because it's heavy, Euro V DPF and has decent 0-60 oomph. The viscous diff. means the front tyres look like lasting 40k miles and the rears over 50k. But when the ice comes, the 4x4 kicks in and does the business. Went for a job as a human cannonball. Not the right calibre.
On completely the other end of the spectrum mine seems to be very thirsty
