stop / start failed after battery went flat ? - FIXED - |
|
left my car at home for a few weeks while on hols with the blackvue connected .
Expected the battery to be flat , so had already removed the jump leads from the boot before going ( and can connected via a hidden Anderson connector )
So get home battery flat..put a bit of charge in and unlocked the car ..jump started and all seemed fine
However the stop / start will now not work ?? batteries are fully charged now ..iv done 1500 miles since coming home .
Done a soft reset / hard reset / cleared all faults / checked fuse on stop / start battery ...still wont work
Any body had this issue ..or any ideas .? G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Would the smaller stop start battery have gone flat as well? Does it need some direct voltage going to it to kick start it? Bodsys Brake Bible

Can't see anything related in Topix other than it sounds like the module is still detecting a low charge from the main battery ...maybe run it deactivated on every trip for a while. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

So if I run the main battery down, that will disable the Stop Start forever....

Hi Alex and I didn’t post this, right.
If you disconnect the negative ( - ) lead from the STOP/START battery, “apparently” the STOP/START function no longer works.
Again, I didn’t tell you that. 2008 TDV8 RR Lux + 2009 D4 2.7

That's very helpful; I've made a note for when I buy a D4.
Does the STOP/START battery have any other function?

A dealer will soon be able to use a new function on SDD to narrow this down further
Quote:Stop/Start System – Health Check
You asked for….. a way to identify if a vehicles Stop/Start System is operating correctly.
A Stop/Start System relies on inputs and outputs from other vehicle systems to function. If these inputs and outputs are not present, the Stop/Start System will not stop or start the engine. This can be interpreted as an actual vehicle concern by the customer, but it is in fact the intended operation of the Stop/Start System.
We are…. introducing the ‘Powertrain – Auto Stop/Start System – Health Check’ application, which will quickly confirm the functional state of the Stop/Start System. Once the application is launched, the user must follow the applications onscreen instructions, after which a results screen will confirm if the Stop/Start System is functioning correctly or if there is a vehicle concern which needs further
investigation and diagnosis. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

No Tim
Both batteries ok .. But there's a couple of modules it connects too !
Been through the wiring and associated fuses .. Still no joy
Not desperate , so next time its in for a service I will get them to look at it .. Unless you have any ideas ??
Thanks DG G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
