I have just set my gap tool up to the car and downloaded new firmware. I then thought I would have a little play with it and add a few things when I had changed them and clicked upload it would not do it as it said battery voltage was too low. So I disconnected it and thought I would start engine to charge it but it just clicked and will not start as battery is flat. Do these things take a lot of charge when working as ignition is on and quite a lot of things are running ? It was in that mode for about 20 mins. when I first connected it I remember it saying battery 12.2 volt. Is this normal or is battery knackered ? I have not had any trouble before.

Normal, it's good practice to hook up a supply or to a second vehicle. With the ignition left on with no supply the vehicle is using a lot of amps Thumbs Up
