DISCO3.CO.UK Photograph Competitions - August 2007

Further to the idea discussed in my original thread here, I'd like to press on and introduce the first of - hopefully - many more photographical competitions on here, to highlight the excellence of many pieces of work found in and around the forum taken by various members. Below I will outline various rules and guidelines regarding the competitions.

August 2007s Subjects:

- Holidays
- Water

Submission Rules

- Your entry must stick to one or more of the themes listed above.
- The photograph you enter must be taken by yourself
- You must have taken the photograph during the month of August.
- Enter as many photos as you like, however I think it's fair to restrict it to no more than 2 per day, just to keep things under control.
- Until further arrangments are arranged regarding storage, please upload your photograph to your own gallery and copy a link to it in this thread.
- Try and give a brief description/overview of the photo when you submit it in the thread.
- You may manipulate your photo using editing software such as Photoshop. You may wish to tell us in the photos description however if you have done so.

Judging

- I will judge the photo on its relevance to the theme, composition, technical considerations (such as focus, tonal range and other photographic techniques), and how effective and impacting the photo is overall.

This Months Prize

- The prize I have chosen for this month is an official DISCO3.CO.UK cap, as found in the shop here.
- If you already own this, don't be deterred from submitting. If you're chosen as a winner, let me know and I'll try to arrange a different prize.

Terms & Conditions apply here!
Just a reminder - by submitting a photograph you could be in charge of organising the following months competition. The winner chosen will be expected to set a theme for the following month, as well as buying a prize and distributing it to the new winner (which you will have chosen!). Or they could just pass on the prize they have just won if they don't like it.... Rolling Eyes

Get creative and enjoy - your time starts now and ends at midnight on the 31st August!! You can have an extra day or so since it's the first month Wink

Going over to Ireland on the 9th, so should have some good pics by the time I return. I'm also doing New York on the 24th, does there need to be a D3 in the pic or is it just holiday and water pics?

No, the D3 doesn't need to be in the picture Thumbs Up

Obviously it's much better if it is..
But if it fits in with the theme and ticks all the boxes then go for it.

To save a bit of bandwidth and to speed up things for those on slow connections (including me at the mo Crying or Very sad ) can you all post pics in threads using the "BBCode" string not the "BBCode Full Size" one. Full size images can be viewed in the Gallery

Cheers
