Anyone tried GT85 to clear bramble rash?

I was out on a 4x4 treasure hunt yesterday and did a few scratchy lanes. Talking to a Freelander owner about bramble rash afterwards, he said that he uses GT85 (www.gt85.co.uk) to clean them up. He promptly grabs a can out of his FL and sprays a scratch on his wing. Quick polish with a microfibre cloth and impressive result. Much faster and less elbow grease than my Meguiars Scratch X 2.0.
He said he had been using it fir years on cars and bikes, and that it builds up a protective layer with each application.
Anyone else heard of GT85 being used this way?

WD40 does the same job but never used it on my own cars.

GT85 is a lubricant, no way can it remove scratches.

All it will do is mask them....

Hmm...GT85 is PTFE (A.K.A. Teflon) so I can see how it could work.

I find rain hides bramble rash just as much as GT85 would Laughing
It's just leaving an oily film that is masking the marks Rolling Eyes

Spraying the sides with GT85 / WD40 before hitting the brambles may encourage the barbs to slide off instead of scratch !!!!

Unlike other lubricants though, PTFE spray is designed to leave a hard, protective coating, that can be used as a kind of lacquer, so I think there is something in it. Thumbs Up

Gt85 makes plastic arches look like new and removes tar spots that my Zambizi silver seems to pick up. I've never deliberately covered bramble rash with it, but it's worth a go.

Was that the Peaks treasure hunt??

TBH if you do any more scratchy lanes look at getting some thick packing film and wrap your car at just below window height Very Happy Should help a fair bit and cheap as chips!
