That pic was from my previous D3 (2008MY manual). You'll note that it's sitting at 60mph when my passenger took the pic. Boring, but very economical. you'll also see that the trip is showing 90 odd miles. It had been on cruise up the A30 at about 60mph for the whole journey.
I never did get to 600 miles - I chickened out at 596 (that's where the cheap fuel station was) but it still had about 10 miles range remaining.
With that D3 I could regularly get 550 miles range. or about 31mpg.
The current D4 is significantly quicker, auto (obviously), has a smaller usable tank volume, resulting in a normal range of 350 - 400 miles. Long term average about 29mpg, max about 34mpg.
All in all ... way better satisfaction per £ than the D3 (or the Evoque that I had in between)
NB, all figures are 'real' not the lie-ometer, which frequently tells me I'm doing 40 mpg Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Happy today from fill to fill my wifey made 441 miles down to Perth cross country ran around Perth n Dundee for a week and returned up the A9. This is great seeing as last trip into England left us with the light on at scotch corner. I'm blaming two stroke for improved MPG

In London I get a real range of about 350 per tank
(Discovery 3 TDV6 auto 2005)
Let's see if I get more this time since I put the injector cleaner in the last tank!
