EPB help please. Desperate, not your usual.
So after a full day under the D3 I have hit a stopping point.
I will start with where I have got too.
Rubber grommit for hole in cover of EPB missing.
EPB module not attached to the bracket.
Cover removed.
Brass bar jammed all the way across to the right.
Finially un jammed and started the slow process of winding in. Amazing help from Bodsy who answered a bit of a desperate text (and on a Sunday afternoon) which ended up in several phone calls.
IID tool only had unjam process and accelerometer calibration. So a clam head from Bodsy said have a cup of tea and update it.
IID updated I now have two options in The I/O menu. Relatch and mounting I think but neither work. So manually wind it back in to latch the two parts.
Test and nothing
Still have no EPB and these lights
I have an EPB fault saying no communication with EPB. The unjam process from iid tool works and I get small movement unwind and back.
Any ideas would be amazing. Is my module FUBARed do to water ingress or have I and Bodsy missed anything.

As a back up plan. Where is the cheapest place to source and EPB module. Is it worth speaking to MMJ and getting a second hand unit, or Just buy new?
How long should it take to do if i send it to my local indie?
Thanks

Post up a full list of fault codes first
Your EPB module will not have a "lost comms with EPB" fault.
Go into ECU Info, and see if the IID picks up the EPB module, and associated numbers to go with it
Not entirely sure how the unjam procedure works, but the Mount/Latch positions are monitored by the EPB module. Everything seems to be pointing towards a lack of power/earth at the module, but that would also prevent the Unjam procedure from working...
Need to see if the EPB module can communicate with the tool first My D3 Build Thread
Sorry was doing the faults off the top of my head last night. So a general electrical failure. Is that as simple as a switch?

Mikey; thank you.
So just to confirm (as I am a bear with very little brain).
Start with changing out the switch in the centre console and then if that doesn't work. Then The loom from the switch to the module?
Or would you do it the other way around?
Thanks and sorry for the dumb questions.
Many thanks

From experience, I would do it the other way round
But, a switch is £25 or so, and takes seconds to swap over. Even better if there is a forum member nearby where you can borrow the switch My D3 Build Thread

Thanks again Mikey.
Were would you suggest to get a new loom from. I note in other threads you say some have poor joints.
Also the part number YNI500400 has differing opinions on whether it will fit. Some say up to vin 5a and other say model year 05-09.
Thanks I will try not to keep bothering you. D3 HSE TDV6 Auto. Bonatti Grey.

There is not an off the shelf repair loom for the switch. You will need to make your own loom up

Thanks Martin.
I was composing a PM in my head to send to you because quite frankly I don't have a clue where to start.
Will have a read of the links and then be in touch.
Thanks all.
