Thomas Compressor Installed
Just a quick pic to show everyone where I have mounted my compressor.
(well I tried to get it in here, but couldn't get it right, so I have put it in my gallery)
Plenty of space behind the rear plastics.
The pump has a short length of pipe with a coupler on the end.
The main length of pipe not shown in the picture will just go rolled up behind where
the tow hitch sits.
BTW. I saw behind the tow hitch mounting bracket there is a platic moulding with about
5 rubber grommets in it, which allows cables to come through from underneath the vehicle.
Which is pretty neat way of getting aux battery cables into the back if you dont want to go through
the inside of the car.
Cheers

Is it not possible to use the cars compressor for inflating tyres. Any thoughts on this?
Common consensus is that you can not use the internal compressor for anything other than the suspension. There is a post about it here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic5936.html?highlight=compressorDavid

Never understood the concept of 'not possible'... the air reciever has a capacity of 9 litres, can't remember at what pressure - ive been tempted to plumb in a take-off to the blanking plug just to see if it can inflate tyres, the compressor has the relevant safety interlocks for motor and comprssor temperature so there shouldn't be any duty cycle issues.. just not got round to it yet
