The car has silicone turbo hoses with mikolor clamps and an alisport intercooler, i’ll Go and have a good look at it and see if something is loose. Just pray there’s not a crack in the intercooler. A faulty big hose I can cope with as I’ve got the original one which was almost new anyway. God this car is one drama after the next. Big Cry

Oh bloody hell mate Big Cry

Can u still get to ur turbo, did u put ur heat shields back , know I found a loose clamp , right next to the turbo , assume u have the self actuator test software that motors the actuator over when turned off

If u can hear pressure which I also had, it was as u increased the revs it was a loose clamp

Fingers crossed it’s something simple Thumbs Up

Found the pic, this is the clip I found loose , the vertical one

Used a stainless steel jubilee clip as the bigger clamps were to wide

Hiya buddy. Will reply to your pm shortly. Yeah all the guards are fitted now. Grrr. I hear he actuator software cycle the actuator on shut off so hope that’s ok. It seems more down low driver side. Praying it’s not a cracked intercooler which don’t get me wrong I can get fixed just not this side of Christmas ! The clamp your describing I think is the turbo inlet one is it ? Didn’t think that was under pressure. Perhaps it’s under a strong vacuum drawing into the turbo ?

Hi mate

Mine would go into limp mode , that clip was actually broke and wouldn’t clamp the hose down properly , managed to fit a new one and fingers crossed resolved the issue

I would get a whistle sound , then as I lifted off the gas pedal it went , was around the 1500 revs range

Agree as logic would say that’s on the suction side so to speak, think if the MAP sensor doesn’t get the correct readings back via the ecu it goes into failsafe

However if its low down I know the bottom intercooler pipe is like an egg shape and couldn’t fit a T bolt clamp , had to fit an ordinary jubilee clip because if the shape

There’s also the other clamp in front of the strut , maybe one is loose ??

I did also soak the actuator and used the made up tool to move it back and forth whilst soaking it with silicone graphite spray

Found a pic as well for u

I’ve got an alisport intercooler which has round pipes so used the mikalator clamps all through. That would make perfect sense re the intake if I’m getting a map low code also wouldn’t it. I’ll check that out because I know I had that pipe off when I did the turbo fixings mod a while back. I’ve got the same whistle pressure noise under load as you describe. It’s been fine for over a hundred miles it was only when I kicked down to overtake it happened. I’ve had the esf warning from the start but assumed that was because of the injector issue. Any ideas what live data I could check and what values should be ?

Hi

That’s handy with the allisport , never know as it’s been fine for 100 x miles a clip has just come loose

Apologises I’m not sure what the live data should be, maybe one of the other members will know

Have u had the MAP sensor out again to see it’s clear

Just thought I may have some live data screen shots, see if I can find them for u to compare

That hissing noise is definately louder than it was. It also seems to be low down drivers side. I’m praying it’s blown the hose off the flange or something similar. Big Cry

Had a quick look. Possibly have maybe found it. The pipe that goes from the mass air flow meter across the upper fan cowling, then bends down toward the floor, there’s a joint there which is fixed to the fan cowls, the upper being screwed to a fitting. Well the fitting is missing allowing the joint to come apart. I’ll jury rig some sort of repair tomorrow to get me through and have a real good look in letter light at other flanges etc but they all seemed ok. On my knees in the dark with a rubbish torch Laughing

Hi mate

That would be a result if that’s all it is

If it’s the same fitting I’m thinking of I fitted new screws there so that it didn’t lift

Looking at the pic is it the 2 x shiny bolts near the bottom of the picture ur talking about

Is this it ref part numbers

http://new.lrcat.com/#!/12128/41216/43986/3431

If it’s those top bolts I’ll find the link of the ones I used because the part shows it as a nut , i used self tapping screws there

Can’t remember if I used M6 or M8

Hi buddy. That’s the pipe ! It’s the joint to the right that I think may be the problem. It bends down toward the floor. The joint it held together by a combination of those screws and the upper fan cowl being fixed down to the lower one. I’m hoping that’s what the issue is but knowing my luck it won’t be.
