Blackpool illuminations style dash
The old girl blew a brake bulb at the weekend so I had first hand experience of it
throwing it's toys out of the pram and sulking.
Got the wife to check and O/S had gone and she was amazed that I guessed this before she had a look. told her nothing to worry about and that these do this sort of thing and I would have fixed in no time.
Put new brake bulbs in and the problem was OK for maybe 30 minutes but the O/S one blew again.
I'd replaced with LED bulbs from Halfords so was a little suprised when it went. Swapped bulbs over and defo. a dud so went back to Halford who had run out of 380 LED's so stuck in a pair of standard filament bulbs in but the problem persists.
Tried clearing the codes with the Nanocom but they won't go away so I'm guessing that the brake switch has decided to join the fun.
Ordered new rear bulbs and a brake switch from AF which should arrive tomorrow so fingers crossed that this solves the problem.
Car is currently low rider stylee but driveable so will not try climbing any kerbs until resolved but can driving it whilst lowered do any harm?
Cheers Gary

I had something similar last year and it ended up being a blown rear number plate blub, that was on the cusp of blowing and then finally blew....
Very difficult to spot, as when I looked at it it was working fine........
Good luck.

New bulbs - same, new brake switch - same.
Battery now disconnected and on charge but is original so have ordered an Enduroline jobby from Tayna UK
which will arrive Friday and hopefully be the end of my issues.
Wish me luck

Do a hard reset while the battery is out.
Can't hurt and may help.

Had this issue a while back. Main dealer bulbs and break switch sorted it out. Spits her dummy out with anything else. Or change to Disco 4 LED's and then you don't have the issues of bulbs going

To be honest Gaz, you appear to have already diagnosed your problem, have applied a known fix and it hasn't sorted the issue. You might be jumping to an incorrect conclusion purely because you had a blown brake bulb.
You'd be better off detailing which dash lights are illuminated and when they illuminate and what appears to trigger the fault as this will get you a more accurate response rather than presuming you have it diagnosed and implementing a fix that hasn't worked.
Ask the question on the forum and allow the experts a chance at solving your problem and you might get a quicker solution. Mods:

Thanks Narpy.

What happened.
Dash lit up. brake bulb had blown, replaced and all was fine for maybe 20 minutes then lit up again.
New bulbs from AF and new brake switch but same.
Battery disconnected and on C-tek overnight but dash still lit up. Cleared codes with Nanocom, supposedly succesfully but on ignition on, dash still lights up.
Noticed recently that when ignition switched off, voltage drops to under 12 volts in maybe 30 seconds and will stop dropping at maybe 11.4 volts (pulled away from level crossing so don't know if it would keep on dropping, no starting issues) hence the next cause of action is order a new battery as looks like may be original battery. Aside from occasional fluctuating revs (guess a new TC may be in order sometime), car drives well.
Fitted a new alternator a few months back and voltages read from 13.6 to 13.9 and advised on here that this was fine, within normal range. On Saturday when this all started, voltage rose to 14.2 volts for the first time.
Ignore EML - EGR's blanked and am waiting on Geoff applying software patch to resolve.
Voltage is a bit low for 0 deg - Denso alternator? How are you measuring the voltage - a multimeter on the battery? Does sound like the battery isn't too healthy. Fault codes?

Have been speaking to Geoff and he commented that the battery might be a bit low so not totally pointless replacing. He has also suggested that I remove the current battery and pull the ECU's behind it and give the connections a clean which will be my job for this evening.
Codes from nanocom Evo.
1/. U0132 - Lost communication with ride level control module
2/. U0159 - Lost communication with parking brake assist module A
3/. P0405 - EGR Sensor A circuit Low (EGR blanked so discounting)
4/. P1335 - EGR sensor - position sensor min stop performance.
5/. P0490 - EGR Sensor control circuit high
6/. U0122 - Lost communication with vehicle dynamic control mudule
7/. P0500 - vehicle speed sensor
8/. U0416- invalid data received from vehicle dnamic control module
9/. C1A92 Rear left wheel speed sensor
10/. U0421 - Invalid data received from ride level control module
11/. U0400 - Invalid data received - event diagnostic trouble code
12/. B1b55 Rain sensor modile (removed yesterday as faulty)
13/. B1B87 - seat height motor speed/positionsensor
14/. B1D29 - No start, even after re-srart
Ignition off, back on and 3,4,6,7,8,10,11,12,13 come back up.
Will give Geoff another call but suggestions greatly received althougb I don't recall seeing 7 or 9 before.

Just ordered a new sensor from AF, cost almost as much to get it delivered tomorrow .
Will clean ECU's behind battery tonight and hope that this solves it as need the car for
gransdons christening Saturday so it's either fixed or a very slow drive 90 miles each way.
Will report back.

I'll leave the satisfied glow of achievement until it's actually sorted but hopefully getting there.
As I am cleaning the ECU's tonight, I may just try removing the sensor and cleaning the connection to see if that helps, before replacing it on Saturday.
Can't possibly do any harm.

Progress'ish
Left work early to get home and get started.
Sensor located and the bit I could see was obviously not well as the insulation where it plugs into the hub was green in colour and had somehow been worn away. It's fixed in place so I cannot fathom how it has happened.
Toyed with the idea of cutting it and joining but the wear is on the sensor housing itself rather than along the cable so needs swapping out.
By the time I had fought the spare down, I couldn't see where it ran over the chassis so if anyone can point me in the direction of the routing, I will have a head start when up early Saturday to swap it out.
I guess I am glad to see an obvious break as it sort of vindicates the advice I have been given and the Nanocom readings.
Came in for a warm up and will not yet bother with the battery and ECU's as will have to take it out when I install the new one and can give the ECU connectors a clean up then.
Feel I am getting there now but if you know the routing of the cable, please chip on
Cheers
Gary

All sorted, replaced sensor and no more lights and all errors clear.
Here's the offending item. How on earth that managed to wear I have no idea, it's nowhere near anything and I suspect skullduggery when Kerners last had a look at it, can't prove anything but there was an almighty burr on it, looks like someone had an angle grinder or file near it.
Anyway, the only person laying hands on it from now on will be Geoff who I trust implicitly.
