2005 Disco 3 HSE Spec Tow Bar Question
Hi all,
First of all I would like to say hi. I am new here, and have just bought my first disco 3 2.7tdv6 Auto HSE. I have noticed that I have the tow electrics fitted, and also what seems to be a tow bar. I am assuming this type has a swan neck. The problem is the swan neck is missing.

I am hoping that one of you might be able to help me out and tell me what is missing, so I can try and order the replacement parts to save me buying a full new set up.
Also I think that this might be related. My front or rear parking sensors don't seem to work. I know there is a button on the dash to turn them on and off, but when you press this nothing happens. No light, nothing. Could this have been turned off when the tow bar was fitted. Is there any way I can turn it back on.

Its for a detachable bar make sure you dont have one in the left hand storage in the back you find them coming up on here quite often Discovery 3 se gone

Thank you geoffsnook, my self and the mrs have gone through every cubby hole, and nook and crany we could find in hope that it was left some where in the car but it does not look like it. Would you know the part numbers for the parts I need, as I would like to know I am looking at the right parts, and also would like to get it soon, as I have several trailers to move.

Just search Discovery 3 tow bar on ebay there are loads on there sometimes they come up on here for a little less money it does depend on how quick you need it there are also fixed tow bars on ebay that you can easily fix yourself Discovery 3 se gone

The receiver in your first picture is the standard tow bar receiver fitted to every discovery 3. It will accept the standard detachable tow bar you have pictured in your last post, and also will accept permanent tow bars that attach to the receiver and also to holes on the rear crossmember. Your disco will have come with the detachable tow bar when new, but as some one probably had no need for it at some point they sold it for a bit of extra cash. A decent condition second hand one should set you back around £120-180 depending on who's selling and what nic it's in.what is this life, if full of care?

Thank you very much guys. You have already been a great help. One other thing, the seller that I bought it from is going to get the user manual for me and post it out, but in the mean time, my front and rear parking sensors do not seem to work. I have pressed the parking sensor button on the dash and nothing lights up or happens. What could be wrong? or am I not using it right.

I could be one or more of the sensors have gone top tip turn them on and put ur ear to them if they work they will make a ticking sound if not there broke I had one go on my 5 series but the others still worked jus that one sensor that didn't so u may not be turning them on correctly or could be a blown fuse hope this helps God created heavy armour on 06 sept 1916, on the 7th the devil stood to attention!
