Looks nice, as expected much like the rest of the range. (one thing though - where are the front fogs??)

As a premium SUV which is very much what it is, I think it will be a massive success, let's face it there's very few people that spend £40k+ on a car and then hammer it off-roading, the most it will see is a muddy field or track here and there plus a bit of snowfall and you don't need huge capability to manage those conditions.

I'm in the 'can't afford one club' but can still appreciate it for what it is. Just hope JLR keep to their original word and produce a whole new line up under the 'Defender' label that are more affordable and utilitarian for us 'mere mortals'.

As Ken says at the bottom ...the size of fogs are being revolutionised by LED's no doubt.

Looks good, lost a bit of the character of the current car, but I would be happy to take one. Just the pricing I'm waiting for.

What colour temperature are the fogs on the Disco Sport (presumably these will be the same)? Are they pitched for proper use (warm white) or at the DRL fashion fog brigade (cool white and thus crap in fog...)?

LEDs

On the rare occasion I had to use them they worked pretty well, better than the horrid halogen ones.

What we can tell from the picture of the front, is that the back is has a fugly Censored a***!

I think what will make/break the look, is how ungainly it looks from the rear, with the need to have the length for the 7 seats, but not look all "topple over upright" like a disco sport does directly from behind.
Disco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...

There's nothing horrid about halogen fogs. Their warm colour temperature and excellent colour rendering makes them ideal, and neither is great brightness desirable. Their only downside then is that they don't fit in with strange, fashionable and, more importantly, inaccurate belief that "whiter" light must be better. The best fogs are selective yellow. Wink

That's why we all rave about Xenons rather than halogen headlights Rolling Eyes

My DS with LED fogs gave a better view than the current Disco.

We are going off topic a bit here, but I would have to chime in to support Lost for Words on the colour temp of lights. It is important. An example, I just changed out the Cool Blue Intense xenon bulbs from my D3 for the lower / regular temp and while the light is not as cold white, it is noticeably better when driving at dusk and in the dark.

Saying that, I have an LED light bar on the front which is very white and it is great for driving at up to 30mph on tracks and back roads, but any more than that and you can't see far enough down the road as everything close to you is so brightly & whitely lit!

Correct temps for headlights should be about 4300k

Lost for Words know his stuff on this . . .

If the bog standard DS HSE auto has a list of £40k, by the time you chuck on some paint and things, it creeps to £42k, then the D5 has got to top £50-£60k.

I can see the GS or equivalent coming in at £49595 and anyone wanting a HSE for the Xenons etc will be looking at £60k plus.
