2011 D4 HSE questions

Should be converted soon to "my D4" from "D4 questions" but until then I've got loads of them. I've never really paid attention to the D4 spec and haven't a Scooby in detail. Anyone got a link to the spec for a June 2011 HSE, is that a MY2010?

Is music from the iDog&Bone over BT or do I need a receiver on the end of the curly lead?

Do HSEs have cooled cubby box?

Do HSEs have keyless entry? If I use the key fob button does it change the seat position.

How easy is it to fit timed FBH heater?

I'm sorting out WD cover, amazingly they'll have me back, anything I should be aware of re problems? I understand the crankshat issue but what is this crankshaft breather sensor malarkie or have I go that totally wrong?

Insurance with NFU is only £30 more than my present D3 so happy days there. Tax is £15 cheaper, that'll pay for a pizza s'pose.

Questions, questions but that should be enough for now. Mr. Green

If yours is a MY11, stay vigilant for the Restricted Performance message and about the issues with the cracked inlet manifold. Quite a few posts on here about it and I believe there's a TSP in place.

Parts required:

LR017436
LR017437
LR017438
LR074623

Parts total approx 350.00, invoice total £1,770.00 but WD covered it.

Also worth checking the power steering. Mine gave up and required two sealing rings ( LR009346 & LR020210) costing less than £4 and a bill for £200! Again covered by WD.

You'll need a twirly cable for music.

Thumbs Up

Mines 2013 so not the same infotainment. Can't say about BT music. Mine has it, but it's better quality with cable plugged into the iPod socket in the centre armrest.

I think cooler box was an option until HSE Lux? Again mine has one, but it's a Lux. Even a man of your capability can fit one though.

Not sure about keyless, I think it has, but it won't be the smart key version that unlocks when you put your hand on the door handle. I think you will still have to press a button to lock and unlock.

Timed remote should be a POC Thumbs Up

Get a MY12 HSE and that will solve a few issues over the earlier car, stop mucking about Del and get that biscuit tin out from below the bed.

When I get round to getting a pizza oven. You'd have standards, mine don't go past Dominos. Whistle Whistle

Unfortunately can't stretch to that. Plus I know this car and know the owners haven't abused it or done anything silly like off-roaded it. This would be a road only car. Thumbs Up

~All from memory, couldn't find spec sheet for MY11 mine was reg June 2011 so MY11 last before 8 speed box update in Nov 11

Keyless YES Pretty certain does sense when touched mine did

Coolbox Option not standard

I-phone need curly cable.

Timed FBH can be enabled all there, not standard.

Mem seats with 3 settings for storing, no key fob stuff

Should have headlamp assist as standard, though removed later yr models becoming an option.

You can fit your split charge sys in spare battery box too. just need to do a little tiding first, cables all run same way and places.

Voice activation pretty crap on this model, has improved muchly since.

MY12 cars suffered from a pretty poor stat nav, (very slow to respond) MY11 much better Thumbs Up

Cheers, that answers lots of my questions. Bow down Bow down

Pretty sure it has heated steering wheel (from memory when they bought it) and reversing camera with the yellow lines to show where you'll go. Plus it has heavy duty tow bar & electrics but never towed, used for bikes.

Great re aux battery, would be good to have 2 ciggie sockets fed from aux batt. One for charging tech and one for fridge. Thumbs Up

Del
On my MY10 (one of the first) HSE's.....

Cool box - option
Cannot stream music via BT - has ipod connections and can play from a memory stick -DAB is great though - I only listen to R5 or Absolute 80's Embarassed
Sat Nav is pants, Voice activation hit and miss (Garage disconnected battery last week and I've lost stored voice activated numbers - not arsed so that shows how vague it is)

Entry is keyless - just put your hand over the handle, but locking is via the door buttons or key fob (and for about 6 months I wasn't deadlocking as the procedure is the reverse of a D3)
Just checked if seat memory works when unlocking - no (never needed to adjust as only me drives it) - memory buttons better placed on door vs. buried at bottom of seat though
Start via a button, key can be anywhere in the car, not in a slot

Remote FBH can be easily done I believe

I've got the original brochure, accessories and price lists if you are interested - PM me your email and I'll send over (to big to upload here)
