Might have to get the dealer to look at my drivers seat though, its got a large gap on the right hand side of the squab at the back, and it is ever so slightly loose in its mounting. I sometimes feel it move a bit if I go from hard brakes to hard acceleration. It is creaking also.

Mines always been like this... dealer says its normal. But then I have poor persons seats in my 'S' not posh seats like the HSE Shocked

but there is a GTR doc that explains how to check the fixings for the seat after 45K miles (I think) so maybe I'll look see and find out if these are not as tight as they might be.

Well, today was eventful! went up to the North and decided to return this afternoon avoiding the A1, so took the A66. I stopped in a layby to have a coffee, and as I applied the parking brake SCRRREEEEEEEEECCH followed by a loud bang. Then the lamps came on flashing red (P) and a solid yellow (P).

Once I had got back out from under the dash board (it was scary) I tried to relase the brake, but it would not, just kept flashing message "PARK BRAKE FAULT SYSTEM INOPERABLE" and the car would not budge an inch.

Censored The A66 is not the best place to break down, so I switched off and bought a coffee and started reading the manual to find out about the manual release.

Anyway, when I had finished my drink, I switched her on again, and all was back to normal, the brake is now working normally again. Will need to book her in for some attention for sure now.

Went to Rothley in Leicester today.

I now have the park brake fault sussed. If you put your foot on the brake, transmission into Park, and make sure the vehicle is absolutely stationary before lifting the lever, all will be OK.

If you lift the lever whilst the vehicle is rolling/rocking slowly forward or back, or if the car is on a slope then it lets out the screech, and won't release until a restart.

Going away tomorrow on an aeroplane, so it will have to wait until next week.

Today...

First the bad news...

...I waved goodbye to my D3 for another 3 days as iwent in to have the infotainment unit replaced including screen... Crying or Very sad

and the good news...

... three days without the V8 should ease the pressure on the World's oil producing nations to increase output. Shocked

Interestingly (well, it's a slow afternoon), does it annoy you that you have to hang around for half an hour, whilst they ring your insurance company, pass the phone back and forth so you can confirm its you - so they can add the Freelander to your insurance?

Also, my insurance company informed me today that they only allow five courtesy cars during a policy's' duration (I'm guessing this means 12 months) and that they would not be able to insure any more courtesy cars for me, for free under my existing policy. Next time it willcost me.

Do you reckon LRCS or the Dealership will pick up the tab?
