Black Ice - You Can't beat physics
Had a near miss coming back to Clumber park earlier. Temprature was 1c when I approached a 90 degree bend coming through Norton village at <10mph and I hit ice. The D4 spun 180 and just lightly caught the curb on opposite side of road. I've felt the car go on that bend before but the road was total black ice for a good 20 metres today never seen anything like it.
Anyway, everyone ok and no harm done but just a reminder that no matter what your driving and what tyres you have (I had wintracs on) you cant be to careful.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Glad your all ok pal I'm always up that way for creswell crags and clumber & sherwoods forest with the kids and as you say you can never be too careful glad the D4 and all it's occupants were safe too!! God created heavy armour on 06 sept 1916, on the 7th the devil stood to attention!

We are in Clumber pretty much every week and Sherwood Pines too. You will usually find us parked in the BBQ area when its open we normally do a full english on the back of the disco before we set off MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Yep. On black ice, we're no different to any other car. We all have 4 wheel braking, I imagine ours would do more damage though.

Looked at car today seems i didn't get away quite as lightly as i thought. One of the rims looks like someones taken an angle grinder to it surprised I'm not losing air looking at it.
Will swap for the new spare tomorrow. Don't think its repairable, given I'm about to sell the car ill get a refurbisher to look at it and see whats what.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

We'll keep a look out for you too - we're often in Clumber on our 'car camping' trips - was sausages & bacon on the back of the Disco on Tuesday. There's usually a whine of RC cars round us too.

RDR my brother in law has just bought one of those new 4x4 hybrid volvos look a little like an x5 but I really liked it he went for the top spec and for the money well let me just say I was envious you get a hell of a lot for the money!! and for a hybrid you get the best of both worlds and it's rediculously quick and he's having it tuned so 0-60 is 3.5 sec for a 2 tonne car its outrageous!!
