rope maintenance

D'day

A little word to the wise on rope maintenace & cleaning.
Hope I am not getting into egg sucking instructions but here goes.

Man made fibre ropes can deteroate in direct sunlight so store your kit out of the sun.
When it gets muddy please don't jet wash it.
That just drive the crap in to the fibres.
Best way I have founds is to leave it in a water butt or bucket and let the crap soften in water.
Then just shake & rinse in clean water. Allow to dry out of the sun.
Try not get any oil or grease on the rope, that can eat them also.
Have fun

Just to let people know, I haven't forgotten about this, I'm just getting a bit snowed under at work.

Do we have any more takers? Lots of 'interested' people have not converted their signups.

I'll try and get some definite prices for other bits and pieces through to you all.

I've got prices back for the other bits and pieces that we were interested in.
Quote:
150mm tree strop with 2x sliding sleeve – SD6/4mtr £35 – sleeve £7.20 per 1/2mtr
60mm tree strop with 2x sliding sleeve – SD2/2mtr £7.01 300mm long sleeve £0.45 each
4.75t bow shackle - £4.36 each

If anyone wants to update their order, please post another reply.

I'll confirm the ropes order with L&C this week and the rest on Monday 26th, hopefully to have all the bits made up by Christmas.

Can I ask what SWL the hooks are rated to? A mate may be interested in a couple but he's insisting on asking questions I don't yet have the answers too Rolling Eyes
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Question has been put to L&C, I'll let you know what they come back with.

If it helps in the mean time, they are Gunnebo EKN hooks.
