Vibration
Hi, folks just upgraded to a D4 auto (previously enjoyed) and have a couple of niggles that have started to perplex us.
When driving on country roads, we seem to get a vibration through the car that doesn't go if accelerate or decelerate, but does seem to go when I brake hard. Doesn't happen all the time, just now and again. First time I thought it was the shell grip on the road, but kept vibing well past it. Reading on here it appears to be sticky calliper or EPB? How can I easily check out what it might be?
We also seem to have a random error message that comes up as restricted performance ( also battery on key needs changing) with no noticeable change and it doesn't seem to come up after turn off and on. ?? Not had a diagnostics check yet, but there seems to be loads of horrors on here relating to this.
Oh and the boot lid catch switch appears to have been full of water and no longer works, can I just change the switch or is it a new entire unit?
Just a few gripes, any pointers appreciated!

I and others have had something similar.
Basically down to a sticking brake pedal linkage / actuator that occasionally results in the front brakes binding slightly on. The temporary cure is to pull the brake pedal up with the top of your foot (or to brake hard as you have found).
If under warranty get them to attend to it. If not, get in there with an oil can
Random 'restricted performance' message is also quite common. In my case has happened 4x in 3 years. Parking up and turning the engine off for a minute seems to cure it. It's something to do with the EGR / catalytic converter AIR.
Can't help with the 3rd I'm afraid

A common fault that causes 'restricted performance' is the fuel filter housing. Cheap to replace and the new one comes with a new fuel filter.

when I bought it there was some muttering about the fuel filter being changed etc. do you have to reset the car ECU/notifications if you do this?

My car has the restricted performance message. The car did not have any restricted performance though. It still ran perfectly. It again was the fuel filter sensor. A new housing which contains the sensor sorted it.

Garage diagnostics came up with fuel in water sensor fault.
1 down, 2 to go.

sticking caliper is the culprit for the vibrations it seems, so thanks for the pointers.

Was it the front or rear caliper causing the issue?

Having danced with this since I have had it, the fault now suggests a cracked inlet manifold OFFS
