I fitted a Traxide kit for the same reasons. Also used it to jump start other cars.
It does end up with a small Anderson connector so I made up a small to Large adapter.

So is it possible to run cables straight from +/- from the battery under the car and connect a female Anderson plug? Then connect the trailer?
Would this drain the battery?2016 D4 Landmark

Evening all, I am in the process of finishing off the home brewed camp trailer and attachment to the disco. I have run 60amp cable directly from the battery, down, around and up and then mounted it where my white plug would be if I had one. Works a treat Ill be there in a minute!!!

Wiggs quick question do you have the cables going through the hole where the rear socket would have been? Reason I ask is I am having trouble getting my socket to sit far enough back to get the cover back on. I have made a stainless bracket like you but not had chance to fit it as I could not get it to 'mock up' far enough, if that makes sense. Would love a few more close up pics if possible 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

So no need to add a fuse?
60Amp cables from battery straight to Anderson female?
Will give this a go when I am back!

I have a cable running direct from the positive terminal of my battery - generally running on top of the chassis to an andersen plug that sits behind the plug cover at the rear - I do not have the white standard plug in my car so the wiring goes through the hole at the rear provided for the white plug. (My car was not wired for the white and black plugs from new so I fitted a OEM loom but decided I did not need the white plug so left it out. I have the return earth lead earthed on the body nearby.
I do not have my cable fused - and this is a real no no. I didn't have an appropriate fuse at the time and is on the list to urgent things to do. If your cable wears through and shorts you may well set your car on fire. My cable runs from the battery through on of the holes in the inner guard just in front of the battery and the cable insulation started to chaff - so i installed extra insulation.
So yes put in a fuse or circuit breaker.

Mine runs from my second battery set up. And the positive is fused, defiantly add a fuse. If you want to use the Anderson plug for other things (jumping cars) then larger cable will need to be run. I ran 25mm2 175amp rated cable with a 175amp Anderson connector on the back. I have an in line mega fuse on the positive just before the battery. I carry several different fuses but normally have a 50amp mega fuse in it as this is adequate for charging my trailer.
Cable is run along the chassis from the second batter box to the rear.07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,
