OEM Ladder Quality

Getting a bit tired of OEM ladder quality. This is my third, was dealer fitted at delivery and only 18months old. Previous ones all started peeling and rusting within 2 years too.

yeh cheers I had the one on the last D4 recoated in plasti-coat of some sort which worked well. Gonna raise with dealers at next service, just pee'd off with the quality TBH its been the same with them for 10 years its not like its a bad batch!

I noticed this one as rusty water had started collected on the lower bumber and running down the number plate looked a right mess. I don't normally think like this but as my mate said yesterday for a £65k car less than two years old its pretty $hite which I have to agree!

Rant over, its Sunday and the kids are cooking me breakfast Very Happy

The ladders have always been the same unfortunately thin edge paint cover is vulnerable and once chipped and the water is in ..that's it. Won't it be under warranty though ?

I was going check with them when it's in for its service I can't recall if dealer fit items are 12months or get the full 3 years.

I've got a front runner ladder on mine, been on 4 years and just a slight bubble starting to show.

remove the ladder, sand blasting it, hot-dip or plasma galvanization, paint it on black! Problem solved!!!

I done this on my Defender side step 6 years ago, still perfect!!!

When I got bits & bobs fitted to my new D3 back in 2006 it was a 3 year warranty for LR accessories if supplied and fitted by the dealer within 30 days of first reg. Though no idea re OEM stuff so that's not very helpful. Sad
